Not a problem at all northwest! Am trying to restrict posting time, especially as it's half term, but all it means is that the posts are excessively long
There's a lot going on with the senate intelligence hearings re: russia and also security clearances this afternoon - will try to condense into manageable posts although the hearings are still ongoing so this isn't by any means complete

Just now: DNI Director Coats tells Senate Intel that Russia considers its past meddling a success - "There is no doubt that Russia sees the 2018 elections as a target."

In the past month, Coats, Tillerson, and Pompeo have all proclaimed Russian election interference inevitable.
View this in context of Trump admin refusal to enact sanctions on Russia, illicit meetings with spies, and obstruction of investigation. Their inaction is intentional.
Warner [at hearing]: Can you reconfirm to the public that the IC understands the Russian threat? It's been a year and there's been no decrease in Russian activity, and more intent to intervene.
Everyone asked agrees it will not stop.
Senator King: The entire IC agrees that Russia interfered in 2016 and will interfere again. The only person who disagrees is Trump, and he's misinforming my constituents. So are you going to convince Trump to tell the truth?
Senator King: We have no doctrine of deterrance against cyber attacks; we are doing nothing; there have been no repercussions for Russia. We need a clear doctrine that establishes consequences.

Now: Russians "upped their game" in 2016 election meddling -- Dir. National Intelligence Coates
"There needs to be a national cry" from the American people that "we're not going to allow some Russian to tell us how to vote, how we ought to run our country"

CIA Director Pompeo says the Trump administration's choice not to enact sanctions on Russia (which Congress passed in 2017) should not be looked at in isolation, but within the admin's broader Russia policy...

Coats now calling attention to Russia. "We expect Russia to continue using propaganda, social media, false flag personas,” etc. Coats says there should be “no doubt” that Russia views its past interference as a success and warns about future interference in the 2018 midterms.

This is something you'll hear over and over today. Our intelligence professionals, including Trump appointees, think that Russia is still coming at us.
Trump won't acknowledge it.

Another reason that “waiting for November” is a bad Democratic strategy. Russia is ready to help Trump steal ANY election. He has to go.
