Devin Nunes Gets A Pretty Basic Fact Wrong In Defending His Memo
Nunes suggested that Donald Trump had never met with George Papadopoulos. There's a photo of them sitting at the same table.

And we certainly didn't have a national security meeting right here:

So, yeah, about that.

I put in my two weeks notice.

I work at Montana Department of Labor.

There were going to be ICE subpoenas for information that would end up being used to hunt down & deport undocumented workers.

It would have been my responsibility to prepare the information and hand them off to ICE.

I refuse to aid in the breaking up of families. I refuse to just “follow orders.”

This isn’t an easy decision as it puts me in a delicate financial position.

I’ve got a toddler, an underemployed wife in grad school & two cats.

There’s about $900 in my checking account.

People have asked why am I doing this if I have a child.

I’m doing this because I have a child.

I want to be able to look my child in eye.

So many people are waiting on the 2018 elections, but many people being targeted by this administration don’t have that long.

I’m drawing my line in the sand here. Cooperation with this regime is not acceptable.

There are people who “support my decision” but seem disinclined to do much else. It’s frustrating.

I’ve been asking, “when do we riot,” but increasingly it seems to be that the answer is never.

(he put a paypal addy up as some were saying they would help him out, but I'm not posting that).

This is an extremely important piece by @brianbeutler. The two parties are not equivalent in how they behave. In particular, the GOP's rigging of the electoral system has no equivalent on the Democratic side. A carefully reasoned polemic worth your time.

Important potential turn in the #NunesMemo saga.

@SenWhitehouse (who I deeply respect) on @PreetBharara podcast:

Sen. Whitehouse: “The BIGGEST unanswered question…is what was the White House role” in the #NunesMemo

conversation turns to obstruction of justice ... 1/

.@SenWhitehouse:“If you’re doing legislative oversight of the Executive Branch and you’re having your strings pulled by the subject of that investigation in the Executive Branch, that’s not real legislative oversight and at its worst it might actually be obstruction of justice”2/

.@SenWhitehouse: "If[#NunesMemo]was a scripted exercise designed to impede Bob Mueller’s investigation by facilitating a broad attack on the FBI and on certain witnesses who might be brought into the grand jury, now you really are getting into obstruction of justice territory"3/3

I think the Russians approached the Trump campaign saying they had hacked her emails and those of the DNC. To be honest you are sure to find dirt or something embarassing in any politicians emails.

High school students were harassed. A student of Indian descent was sent a message to go back to India. A parent was publicly doxxed (it wasn't even her address.) A black student was threatened with lynching. All over a high school play.

NEW from me: A casting controversy derailed a high school play in Ithaca. Then sites like Breitbart and the neo-Nazi site, the Daily Stormer, picked up on it.

You wouldn't believe what happened next.

A harsh article but an accurate one.

lionheart · 08/02/2018 20:40

'Of course, that the Trump administration spews falsehoods like a volcano spews ash is not exactly a revelation. In his first year in office, our pathological liar of a President has given vent to thousands in a kind of pyroclastic flow. But the particularly wicked type of fabrication that came from the lips of Sanders deserves special recognition.

The men and women at the FBI who are devoting their lives to upholding the rule of law tend to be tough-minded people, but they are nonetheless victims in this matter. Words have been stuffed into their mouth by the officer of the U.S. government most responsible for speaking the truth, words that they are bound legally from publicly rebutting, and words that are the diametrical opposite of what they plainly think and feel.'
