I don't look back on those days fondly, it irritated the shit out of me even then and I remember there were threads at the time.

I'm on my way, to work today.....

YABVVVVVU

Granny Murray and all of her clients are a-mazing.

Woollypinksocks · 03/02/2018 21:56

Takes me back to when ds1 was little.

They don't show it anymore do they?

I’m with you, it was CBeebies hell. DH and I always wondered if the actors sat on set wondering where their lives had gone so wrong.

And what was the line in the theme song that sounded like ripensyjip? Because that meant tragic poor quality tat not to be seen dead in when I were a lass and was the only bright spot in the show for me

Catsize · 03/02/2018 21:58

I’d blocked this memory and now I curse you OP. 😡😛

shakemysilliesout · 03/02/2018 21:59

She was so going to be called granny! I know it's a term of a affection but Sheesh she was like 40.

Meatbadger · 03/02/2018 22:00

Reminds me of DD1’s early wake ups when we’d sit waiting for cbeebies to start Grin

The headteacher was the most incompetent man alive as I remember!

QuentinSummers · 03/02/2018 22:01

I found the pink taxi driver and the train steward the most unlikely relationship! He looked like he was still in school. Very bizarre.

Snooks1971 · 03/02/2018 22:05

woollypinksocks thank you for your T&T thread, it inspired me to remember kids' programmes that truly peed me off but were strangely addictive (to DC and I also avidly watched) wtf!

My 3 year old has discovered Granny Murray on YouTube.....What joy🤗😂

Snooks1971 · 03/02/2018 22:09

There was a dog that belonged to Granny Murray that always seemed a bit sad, and OMG (sorry) they used to dress Claude up? A male dummy?
I'm going to have nightmares tonight.

It was a horrific show. Please tell me it's not still shown on CBeebies.

blamethecat · 03/02/2018 22:13

It was truly awful.

Snooks1971 · 03/02/2018 22:13

Quentin YES! Each to their own and all that but it made me feel like I was on drugs

My DD still watches this on YouTube and always wonders how Tina's taxi crosses the Tyne Bridge and comes into George Square in Glasgow.

FittonTower · 03/02/2018 22:15

I frickin hated that show. And that doctor that rode the bike to work, she totally couldn't ride a bike. Why not let the poor women drive to work?

Snooks1971 · 03/02/2018 22:15

No longer on Cbeebies. RIP.

We've got the fucking DVD thanks a bunch DH

If Mickey John we're a real teacher, he'd be on 'capability', as we say in the business...

StewPots · 03/02/2018 22:16

Oh god, DD loved this show. I relived the horror of it with DS 10 years later so it's pretty old now. Thank god DS doesn't do 5am wake ups anymore.

I'd do his breakfast, listening to that fucking "we're gonna do it, we're gonna do it" song and finding myself singing to it. Might as well have put on a pink tracksuit and taken the knowledge, gone the whole hog.

Bloody dreck.

ShackUp · 03/02/2018 22:18

I said this on another thread but I could've sworn Granny Murray used to say, 'RIGHT ma wee pricks!' after the poor kids had dressed Claude up.

QuentinSummers · 03/02/2018 22:23

Grin

stew I had forgotten it was on early! Only marginally less annoying than the Tweenies at 6am!

StewPots · 03/02/2018 22:24

Also the "plots" were totally awful and didn't even make sense. I wonder what the now-grown up kids feel about appearing in it Grin

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 03/02/2018 22:31

Ahhhhh, the train guy. He can toast my cheese.

AllButterShortbread · 03/02/2018 22:54

Aww feeling wistful now as ds used to love the bus cleaning woman who worked nights. We all used to be word perfect on her song. Ds is almost 11 now and doesn’t even recall the programme Sad

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 04/02/2018 07:45

The dog (Samson??) belonged to the Dr didn't he? She dropped him at a childminder for some mystery reason.

I think it had one redeeming feature though. It made me feel better about my own job as I got ready at 6am.
