Ronald McDonald is a clown??

Just watching a programme and up pops Ronald McDonald, DD comments on how she hates clowns and I say that “RMc isn’t a clown, silly!”. DH and DD look at me as if I’ve lost my mind and tell me that of course he is . They had a good old laugh.

I’m shocked, I didnt realise he’s a clown, just a man with a painted face and a funny wig...and funny clothes.

For some reason we had a tape that got played in the car that was full of stories (and possibly songs) about the hamburgler et al.

It must have been in the 80s rather than 90s though. I can’t inagine wanting to listen to a tape about Ronald McDonald while I was at secondary school.

I just messaged my DH regarding this. The exchange, word for word, was as follows:

Me: What is Ronald McDonald?
DH: Huh?
Me: What is he?
DH: Er, not sure really. A clown I suppose.

I agree this should be in Classics - how does one nominate?

While we're at it though, I was well into my twenties before I realised that Mr. Bump is covered in bandages. I just thought he was stripey.

It doesn't need to be in classics because it's in AIBU, so it won't disappear anyway.
