Pissed off with reaction to present?

Bought friend birthday present. She opened it and literally looked at it in disgust and just muttered thanks and shoved it back in the bag.

Genuinely thought I’d bought her something she would like - obviously not. Which is fine and you can’t help what you like or dislike but surely most people would at least pretend to like it?

It’s annoyed me so much that I’ve text her to apologise. Aibu?

I think you should just try and leave it and focus on your other friends/making new friends.

I've given up buying presents for people completely now....doesn't matter how nice or expensive the present is, you can't buy their love/affection/time etc.
