Bought friend birthday present. She opened it and literally looked at it in disgust and just muttered thanks and shoved it back in the bag.

Genuinely thought I’d bought her something she would like - obviously not. Which is fine and you can’t help what you like or dislike but surely most people would at least pretend to like it?

It’s annoyed me so much that I’ve text her to apologise. Aibu?

Do you tend to buy eachother in the same budget? What does she buy you?

I receive unwanted smellies at Xmas from some relatives (same brand each year) and I always smile and say thank you. DH says I look a bit bored though.

MumsTheWordYouKnow · 05/02/2018 07:56

Only 2 posts by OP with barely any information. What a waste of time these kind of threads are.

Slartybartfast · 05/02/2018 08:01

no way should you have texted an apology. that is wimpish behaviour.

AuntLydia · 05/02/2018 08:08

Why would a bone China mug be better?!

DailyMailareDicks · 05/02/2018 10:11

Maybe she was spooked by the poster in Glasgow who thought they were at the next table? I would probably shit myself and bail if I thought I had been recognised and outed.

Jamiefraserskilt · 05/02/2018 10:23

Wow. She definitely needs some lessons in good manners.
This has happened to me with family kids. I made the decision to buy thoughtless pressies from that point on and to ensure I was never around when they were opened.

MissDuke · 05/02/2018 10:23

OP you don't buy friends deodorant Grin What did she buy you for your last bday?

Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2018 16:29

If this is you OP then she should have thanked you but...... it is't a great pressie by any standards.

Flisspaps · 05/02/2018 18:06

@LolitaChi we really need to know what it was to gauge her unreasonableness.

WallaceSimpson · 05/02/2018 18:47

Omg His little boots GrinGrin

PhuntSox · 05/02/2018 19:38

Someone on my Facebay is selling four cans of the stuff, perhaps that's your friend?

LolitaChi · 05/02/2018 19:43

This thread has me confused. Why are people asking is someone is the OP? Surely my posts are highlighted.

Welcome back OP!

Are you going to tell us what you got her?

Shockers · 05/02/2018 19:51

Please??

NotAnotherEmma · 05/02/2018 19:51

Damn girl just tell us what you got your friend so we can judge it too, possibly without disgust or possibly with much more than she displayed

DotCottonDotcom · 05/02/2018 19:52

Right Op spill!

NotAnotherEmma · 05/02/2018 19:53

We need to know these things in order to render a judgment of YANBU vs WTF would you buy that for someone you claim is your friend or WTFWYBTFSYCIYF for short.

MiddleClassProblem · 05/02/2018 19:54

happyhippyatheart · 05/02/2018 19:55

BackforGood · 05/02/2018 20:05

Come on Lolita - you can't come back to nearly 300 posts asking you questions and just ignore every one of them - give us all some more info please.

overnightangel · 05/02/2018 20:08

Op deserves the disdain for it telling us what it is!

MiddleClassProblem · 05/02/2018 20:11

Yes, we’re going to buy YOU some Lynx for women, Lolita
