Pissed off with reaction to present?

Bought friend birthday present. She opened it and literally looked at it in disgust and just muttered thanks and shoved it back in the bag.

Genuinely thought I’d bought her something she would like - obviously not. Which is fine and you can’t help what you like or dislike but surely most people would at least pretend to like it?

It’s annoyed me so much that I’ve text her to apologise. Aibu?

Lynx is the ultimate ‘I forgot and don’t care much for you’ gift.

I'm not sure deodorant is a good present for someone, and I quite understand the giftee wanting to hide it quickly in their bag so no one else sees that you think they have BO.

I like Dove deodorant. If I buy it myself. If someone wrapped it up and gave it me for my birthday, I would be a little weirded out and think that they thought I was smelly.

She should have feigned delight. Although I'm retrospect I think a bone China mug might have been a better choice .

I would only ever buy deodorant for my DH. No one else. I'd appreciate the sweets though lol!
