Pissed off with reaction to present?

Bought friend birthday present. She opened it and literally looked at it in disgust and just muttered thanks and shoved it back in the bag.

Genuinely thought I’d bought her something she would like - obviously not. Which is fine and you can’t help what you like or dislike but surely most people would at least pretend to like it?

It’s annoyed me so much that I’ve text her to apologise. Aibu?

Most disappointing end to a thread ever!

BluePony · 06/02/2018 00:33
Sad
Pigeonpost · 06/02/2018 01:21

Well now I'm pissed off with OP's reaction to this thread. What can be sooo unique as to make it outing? For the record, money is on homemade glittery shit personalised wine glasses

Bobbiepin · 06/02/2018 06:34

Bad form OP. I was on your side for this but that's just rude.

RowenasDiadem · 06/02/2018 07:08

Well I got a Lynx women gift set as part of a Christmas gift and I quite liked the shower gel. The Lynx spray I discovered however, burns like acid! It's horrendous. I would also really like Jellies as a gift because who doesn't love sweeties?!

Whether it is a shit gift or not though, being ungrateful or rude about it is not on. Plaster a fake smile on and say thank you!

RowenasDiadem · 06/02/2018 07:13

I do wonder what is rider though. Not being grateful for a gift or starting a post, not replying or giving more much needed info (we cannot be expected to give our opinions without some idea what we're discussing) and then kicking off. Hmm..

RowenasDiadem · 06/02/2018 07:13

**ruder, not rider

elisenbrunnen · 06/02/2018 09:28

Op - starts a thread saying she's pissed off wit the reaction to her present.

Then, she leaves. Doesn't say what the present was. Doesn't read her own thread. Flounces when people ask for more detail because it's 'outing'?

Why the thread in the first place? Why didn't you just post on FB?

Motoko · 06/02/2018 10:18

Pointless.

RowenasDiadem · 06/02/2018 10:42

Might as well say

"I'll PM you hun" xoxo

Worieddd · 06/02/2018 12:57

Almost as bad as the New Zealand Sade thread

battenbergbutterfly · 06/02/2018 12:58

Was the present as shit as your thread? If so yes yadbvu.

VaguelyAware · 06/02/2018 13:06

Battenberg - naughty!

TitaniasCloset · 06/02/2018 13:33

True though.

Dotty1969 · 06/02/2018 14:04

What a waste of FUCKING time that was!!
OP, why the fuck start a thread?

TenancyTroublesAgain · 06/02/2018 14:39

Without telling us NOBODY can really say.

What a pointless thread.

TriniRedVelvet · 06/02/2018 15:34

Can't tell if you're being unreasonable if we don't know what the present is. Note to self to avoid your threads in future.

StarShapedWindow · 06/02/2018 16:04

15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back...

sirlee66 · 06/02/2018 16:28

I feel robbed

RowenasDiadem · 06/02/2018 16:34

I wonder if OP is grateful of the gift of our time that we all gave her. For nothing.

Myddognearlyatethedeliveryman · 06/02/2018 17:01

Was the gift a murkin??

amusedbush · 06/02/2018 17:04

What a fucking pointless thread.

OpheliaLeghorn · 06/02/2018 17:57

What's a murkin? Is it related to labia earrings?

DeliberatelyAwkward · 06/02/2018 18:05

I’m watching for a NC and new thread to appear in AIBU...

“Pissed off with reaction to thread?”

TitaniasCloset · 06/02/2018 18:09

A Merkin is a pubic hair wig that covers the bits in films.

You can buy labia earrings? How would you have sex?
