Ravenesque
What a godawful experience. Glad it wasn't a brain tumour after all!

My friend had viral meningitis (as an adult) and said pain in head so bad they knocked her out with ketamine for about 3 days.

Littlemissamy · 03/02/2018 19:10

Dontbuy (sorry can’t tag) I’m sorry for your miscarriage Flowers

Littlemissamy · 03/02/2018 19:11

The headache after a failed lumbar puncture was pretty terrible, nothing beats stubbing your toe though!

Dipitydoda · 03/02/2018 19:13

Top 5

In 5th place having a horse stand on back, in 4th place someone crashing into my car at 70 mph whilst I was stationary resulting in broken neck, in 3rd place endometriosis pain coming in in 2nd baby getting stuck then chest infection immediately after c section - oh how I laughed with every cough. In first place the joy of a gall stones attack!

Lovingit81 · 03/02/2018 19:14

Childbirth with my first-no drugs and had failed ventous and then forceps with no pain relief!!! I genuinely thought I was dying. Second time I demanded my epidural only to have a puncture go wrong and I ended up with a post epidural headache. Hell but worth every minute for my babies. So sorry you are in pain OP Flowers

AtseneGatnalp · 03/02/2018 19:14

Jumping off your bed and landing on a plug.

helensburgh · 03/02/2018 19:15

A sphincter of oddi dysfunction attack.
Multiply gallstones by a million and it's not close.

BumpowderSneezeonAndSnot · 03/02/2018 19:17

@Helensburgh I rolled on the floor crying and begging the Drs to kill me when I had an attack after a dose of morphine. I retract my earlier post and say post cholecystectomy syndrome/bile duct/sod spasm induced by morphine is the most painful.

ragged · 03/02/2018 19:18

In the shower yesterday, bashed elbow hard direct fast hit on the (heavy metal) shower door handle. OMG. First it was just painful for 15 seconds & then
Shock
Nausea
Dizzy
Blinding pain
Half my arm was tingling numb

yup, I hit my elbow funny bone. I sat on the floor to get dressed. Seriously thought I'd pass out. Arm didn't feel right for at least 20 minutes. I'm on the rag at moment which I think magnified it all.

HeyhoIndigo · 03/02/2018 19:23

I'm going to say kidney stones, although I have not experienced it myself ( thank fuck ).

DH had a big one. He is a robust unshakeable guy usually. He was screaming, writhing, sweating and pallid grey. I never want to see that again. It has to be worse than childbirth; I was never in that state when having the DC.

Never been so glad when it went " plink " into the toilet bowl. Relief all round.

Becca83 · 03/02/2018 19:37

The worst pain I have ever experienced was definitely the days following a double jaw surgery. The only way I can describe the pain was like a truck had run o st my face and broken every bone. The only thing that would even take the edge off was constant morphine. I didn't even have the energy to cry. I could have happily ripped my jaws off.

Close second was 3 days of horrendous labour with no breaks between contractions at the end, which resulted in an emcs (thankfully under ga!).

labazs · 03/02/2018 19:37

fibromyalgia nerve damage in my feet carpal tunnel syndrome in hands and wrists headache from bad seizure last night including bitten tongue and remains of flu

ShuttyTown · 03/02/2018 19:41

My worst pain was the epidural failing mid C section on the operating table, a burst ovarian cyst and a dry socket.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 03/02/2018 19:50

During my (failed) induction with ds2, a registrar tried to put one of those monitor things on ds2's scalp. I was only 2cm dilated and I think she went up to her elbow.
Nothing else hurt like that. I was sucking so hard on the gas and air I felt like I was floating off through the ceiling, but it still bloody hurt.

Purplealienpuke · 03/02/2018 19:50

Currently have a kidney infection...... and my lichen sclerosis is flaring 😭.
Fucking sore AND itchy is not my idea of a fun weekend!!

iMogster · 03/02/2018 20:03
  1. Back to back labour, baby getting stuck, fractured pelvis, separating symphysis pubis, 4th degree tear and all with no epidural because of staff shortages. Got home to find I had anal fissures.
  1. Dental abscess leading to acute sinusitis which went on for 7 months until finally got diagnosed after CT scan showed all my sinuses were full of necrotic tissue and my face was dying.

My son got a splinter and a graze last week, he acted like he had one of the above.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/02/2018 20:08

An ear infection in BOTH ears at the same time.

mineofuselessinformation · 03/02/2018 20:14

Ooh, I'd totally forgotten about this one...
I had grommets put in around five years ago - I had glue ear due to chronic sinusitis (a whole story in itself).
Grommets were fine, did the job etc, etc.
But, when I went back for a checkup, one had happily come out, the other one had too, but was stuck to my ear drum. The doctor insisted on trying to pull it out with forceps, despite the nurse repeatedly saying 'would you like the suction?' He must have tried about eight times, each time yanking on my eardrum as he tried to pull the grommet out. Dear god, it went on and on. I was a sweaty mass, trying not to cry or move as I wanted it over with.
No surprises that by he one he'd finished, I had a hole (for that read tear) in my eardrum.

iamyourequal · 03/02/2018 20:21

Worst pain experienced, in descending order:
1.Labour pain.
2.pain from internal bleeding.

3.Standing on wasp in bare feet and getting stung!

LaurieF · 03/02/2018 20:23

Meningitis for me. Worse than childbirth, the excruciating pain every time I moved my eyes or head or tried to speak. The relief when I got to hospital and they started me on morphine was amazing! Also trting to work on a supermarket checkout with a fractured rib :(

cowshindtail · 03/02/2018 20:29

Probably my most painful moment was when I was bitten by a sheep. And I'm not joking.

missuspritch · 03/02/2018 20:35

I haven’t read the comments on here in full but...
I think period pains differ from woman to woman and mine are excruciating stabbing constantly for 2-3 days plus bad back pain... coupled with trapped wind also, I would agree it is on the level of pain I experienced when I had appendicitis. I feel for you! Hot bath, Hot water bottle, lots of pain killers and bed!! Feel better 💐

HollaHolla · 03/02/2018 20:35

I’ve had kidney stones/renal colic five times, broken ribs, pleurisy, dislocated shoulder, ACL rupture, UTIs, etc.

It’s a toss up between the last kidney stone, which did a fair bit of tearing as they had to go ‘up’ (read up my ureter!) - and the ruptured spinal discs, which have left me with chronic pain due to nerve damage, but at the time, I’d have cheerfully let them cut my leg off. I was off my tits on morphine, and was still crying and squeaking. Awful.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/02/2018 20:37

Childbirth.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 03/02/2018 20:45

Amazingly, DD just told me that getting her head trapped in a tube door on a school trip didn't hurt! Shock
