To think Kate Middleton needs to hire a make up artist

Does she still do her own make up?

It's awful. She either needs lessons or just hire an expert.

Some great contenders here for casting for the next Mean Girls instalment.

Bluntness100 · 01/02/2018 09:56

Good to see her humanity being reduced down to how good she is with eyeliner, though

Exactly. And then we say "oh there is so much pressure on us as women to look groomed etc" and women like the op are the reason why. She actually wants this woman to get a oroffesional make up artist because for her, she doesn't quite look good enough. She needs to look better for the op, to have her make up done in a way the op approves of. It's beyond offensive.

Because yeah, for the op and her ilk, that's what matters, just how good she looks and she deserves all the public judgement she can dole out.

Twofishfingers · 01/02/2018 09:58

I really don't give a shit. And I think she's gorgeous.

QuiteLikely5 · 01/02/2018 09:58

Nothing wrong with her appearance!

Why not post a pic of yourself op so we can decide if you need to hire a make up artist?

Poor Kate

midnightmisssuki · 01/02/2018 09:59

Seriously stop asking the OP to post a picture of herself FFS

Why though - she posted about judging someone, so surely we can judge the OP right back?If she wants to dish it out - she should be able to take it back surely? Battytwatty if you think this is like a school playgroud - then perhaps you should move on because i certainly dont think it is.

SlothMama · 01/02/2018 10:08

I think she looks alright, but that hideous velvet dress needs to go!

ShastaTrinity · 01/02/2018 10:10

What I find depressing is how many posters are keen to defend "royalty" but how they seem to disappear on any thread against Victoria Beckham, Jordan, Kim Kardashian or any other woman. They really seem to believe deep down that the royal family is something special.

lastnamefirstfirstnamelast · 01/02/2018 10:11

The only Thing i think ages her is that she puts eteliner on the inside of her bottom eyelids.

but she is very beautiful x

Eolian · 01/02/2018 10:12

If you mean your body appearance in term of general grooming (clean hair) and fitness, then being the best version of yourself is half your appearance. Your intellect matters just as much, but a fit body when you have the ability to get it is very important too.

Important to the person themselves, maybe. Important for random members of to judge them on and bitch about it on a forum... nope.

In any case, what is particularly offensive is that these kinds of judgments and remarks are made almost entirely about women. So let's not pretend that people's motivation, even if they are only criticising cleanliness and fitness (which they rarely are), is about their concern for the importance of the healthiness of public figures, because that's bollocks and you know it! Nobody cares how healthy Prince William's hair looks or whether he has a six pack or looks trim in his gym gear ffs. Whereas if Kate were photographed looking less than perfect in her trackie bottoms it would be all over the press.

HandbagKrabby · 01/02/2018 10:13

Her job is to perpetuate the royal line and after having two dc and a third on the way she’s done that marvellously. If she can not create any scandal or drama then I’m sure she’s doing her role to the tippy top of what is required of her.

I’ve no idea why people obsess over every little thing she does - perhaps because she’s more private and mysterious than other public figures who post everything online.

Whether you judge women on their appearance or not it’s absolutely shit to harp on about it - it makes you look shallow, mean and vain.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 01/02/2018 10:15

She's obviously happy with it. That's good enough for me.

numbereightyone · 01/02/2018 10:16

She is absolutely stunning but she is probably finding it hard to move on and change her look as she gets older. Aren't most of us like that? She's only human.

ShastaTrinity · 01/02/2018 10:17

And you cannot see anything wrong with THAT! And this would constitute a wonderful role model? We are not going backwards in years, but in centuries here.

Blackteadrinker77 · 01/02/2018 10:20

I can only imaging I'd be blown away by your beauty OP

Bluntness100 · 01/02/2018 10:20

Oh for gods sake. Plenty of stay at home mums who didn't really have careers before hand, no matter how well educated they were. Do you say their job is to perpetuate their husbands line???.

Women are so judgmental and fucking offensive about each other. At some point it has to friggen Stop.

HandbagKrabby · 01/02/2018 10:20

Lol that’s what her job is! Of course it’s like something from the Middle Ages, it’s the British monarchy Smile

SkaterGrrrrl · 01/02/2018 10:21

I'm no royalist but think judging appearances is beyond mean.

"best version of herself....You mean have the best colouring in on her face? Having good make up isn’t being the best version of yourself, being a good person, using your position to make the world a better place and raising great children you chose to have is being the best version of yourself".

DakotaWest · 01/02/2018 10:22

no wonder so many people ask for a referendum on the subject.

Threads like these started by women who see themselves as some sort of beauty experts, who I highly doubt have any actual makeup training just make me laugh/cringe slightly. Kate is 1 of the most photographer women in the world. She has cameras up close, often with bright, hot shining lights directly onto her taking images from all angles as she walks through a chaotic scramble. She knows fully well what makeup works/doesn't work for these situations and gets it as right as she possibly could. She looks polished, pretty and is wearing makeup that doesn't look like shes caked it on despite her wearing a lot of it to ensure shes as photogenic in these situations as possible.

Shes ditched the heavier eyeliner recently and recently plucked her eyebrows to give her face a more angular look to cater for the face shes obviously put on some wight (good thing) in pregnancy. She has worked with some of the worlds top photographers/stylists/makeup artists, had lot of professional lessons from a top bridal makeup artists before her wedding day and probably analyses her own photos in the press to see where she might make any improvements. To judge from such an amateur, inexperienced position is ridiculous, you know nothing.

HandbagKrabby · 01/02/2018 10:24

Logically her role is to have heirs, the monarchy is heriditary. It’s nothing to do with sahms - she isn’t a sahm.

Blackteadrinker77 · 01/02/2018 10:28

I actually think they are started by women with low self esteem who judge themselves and others on appearance.

I would agree, for some reason I think it makes them feel better to slag off other women, particularly those who they feel look better than them.

I've a friend who is extremely overweight, she's usually lovely, we were watching the tv and a celebrity was on the news, the celeb was overweight, but only slightly and she said "oh look, here she comes, old thunder thighs, look at the state of it". We all just gaped at her open mouthed, and yes we told her it wasn't on and was mean, there was nothing wrong with the celeb. It did make me wonder what she normally thinks though, and to be honest, how she could make that statement about a slightly overweight celeb, when she herself was verging on morbidly obese. But make it she did.

getsorted21 · 01/02/2018 10:34

I think her style is so aging & twee. Granted given her role she can’t go all rock chic but the Countess of Wessex always looks good. Does that make me a mean girl?

GetUpAndGoGone · 01/02/2018 10:35

What the fuck is diaganol?

SukiTheDog · 01/02/2018 10:43

I think she looks tired and has overcompensated with the makeup. We’ve all been there or certainly, many of us have. I don’t care what she wears nor what she looks like. I don’t envy her married into that lot.

I was on Pinterest this morning and a vintage photo popped up. Doesn’t this girl on the left, with the dark hair, look like Kate? 😊
