AIBU to think that James Corden is the scum of the earth for subjecting puppies to being handed out at Grammies as ‘consolation prizes’?

Just that really. I can’t begin to
Image how frightened they were with all the noise and light. I hope they shit on everyone’s thousand dollar frocks.

Scrum of the earth?
Too harsh.

He's a knob.

Sparklingbrook · 29/01/2018 10:21

Was it his idea alone?

MarsBarsAreShrinking · 29/01/2018 10:22

What the actual fuck?

I always thought he was a wanker... this has just confirmed it.

Hofty · 29/01/2018 10:22

Whaaaaat?! This happened?! Angry

If yes, YADNBU!!!

Skarossinkplunger · 29/01/2018 10:22

Sparklingbrook probably not but he has the power of speech and therefore to use the word ‘no’.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 29/01/2018 10:23

Oh right so it's his fault for not saying no to his bosses.

Rebeccaslicker · 29/01/2018 10:23

What a terrible terrible idea :(((

Bad for the puppies - and really bad as it propagates the stupid idea that they make great gifts.

Don't know whether I'd blame just corden though - the event organisers and the dog breeders are in on it too.

That's appalling Sad

PinkHeart5914 · 29/01/2018 10:25

Scum of the earth really? Did he drowned these puppies? Set them on fire and eat them for dinner?

I think what goes on at the Grammies goes so much higher than James himself, i think your anger needs to go to the organisers . Ok so he could of said I won’t give out puppies but do you honestly think nobody else would of for a pay cheque that size?

Palavra · 29/01/2018 10:29

The puppies looked calm/fine tbh. They didn’t seem stressed and I know my dog experienced something of that size/noise without being bothered at 8 weeks. I would be concerned about encouraging giving puppies as a gift though, not to mention their faces looked a bit squashed!

blackchina · 29/01/2018 10:30

It was a publicity stunt surely? I didn't see it, but if this happened, then it's a bit odd yeah, and wrong... I don't know enough of what happened to comment on it.

Sparklingbrook · 29/01/2018 10:30

Well thanks for that OP, that's delightful.

Where did I say it was ok? I just wondered why JC was getting complete and total blame for something that was most likely not his idea. How about be cross with his bosses?

Anyone would think he had Pink.

blackchina · 29/01/2018 10:31

I do agree that YABU calling him scum. As has been said, it would not have been him who decided to bring on the puppies.

Placeboooooooo · 29/01/2018 10:32

That’s awful! They must’ve been so frightened. Everybody raved about him, never really given him a second though, mildly funny maybe but certainly nothing special. I myself struggle to deal with loud noises and such never mind a puppy.

Rebeccaslicker · 29/01/2018 10:32

Did the puppies get handed back afterwards? Or were the celebs supposed to keep them? I couldn't find the answer to that!

MrPan · 29/01/2018 10:33

Is this really a thing? Were one/two jokingly passed on for the purposes of camera shots but not actually retained?

YesNotReallyNo · 29/01/2018 10:35

Wow sure you're the knob op. Chill man. The puppies will be fine. I'm sure they will.

VladmirsPoutine · 29/01/2018 10:40

In a way I don't actually blame him. He's untalented and very unattractive yet has managed to carve out a multi-million dollar career. Get in where you can. He's exceed all expectations.

Sallystyle · 29/01/2018 10:41

Scum of the earth? Calm down.

I am sure JC was told what to do. Direct your anger at the right people.

It was a shit idea, but I am sure the puppies are fine.

Scaredofthegym · 29/01/2018 10:44

I'm sure the puppies are fine. But you're right that James cordon is a knob. I have been turning the tv/radio over for several years to try to avoid him (which seems to be getting more and more difficult).

I think one of the funniest moments ever was when Patrick Stuart shamed him at an awards ceremony ("I can see your belly from over here")! For basically being a rude, arrogant dickhead.

BlueStockingUK · 29/01/2018 10:50

From the small clip I saw, He was saying 'Here's a puppy, 'You get a puppy' I saw that to mean, he was mimicking Oprah ?! Yes, everyone's face filled with glee, when they got one, they are adorable. Do you REALLY think he was giving away puppies ??!!. They would have been held/cuddled/kissed for 3 minutes and then returned. He's a comedian, he does things for laughs. maybe for some, it was poor taste... How many charity orgs/PETA/activists/campaigners have been on the tv this morning to vilify him?...none !! just someone with no sense of humour on MN, although shitting on their frocks would probably caused more news and outrage.

GabsAlot · 29/01/2018 10:51

ffs he doesnt run the grammys he was a host obviously they looked after them and it was a gimmick

maybe not a well thought out one but not his fault

MissionItsPossible · 29/01/2018 10:52

There are far more reasons to think he's the scum of the earth than this.
