AIBU to think that James Corden is the scum of the earth for subjecting puppies to being handed out at Grammies as ‘consolation prizes’?

Just that really. I can’t begin to
Image how frightened they were with all the noise and light. I hope they shit on everyone’s thousand dollar frocks.

Poor little pups. They're fine, sure. But it's not that fine, really, is it?

But that dude is such a tool for SOOO many other reasons. Don't get me started on his carpool karaoke. America loves him, of course. I'm American and I can't believe the hype he gets over there. Put a British accent on anything, a dirty sock, a blow-up, life-sized hot dog, whatever... we'll devour it with glee and make a success of you based on your accent alone.

BrendasUmbrella · 29/01/2018 10:56

They do this kind of thing on American TV. Ellen has done something similar, and a chat show guy had a "bit" where celebs won puppies for answering quiz questions, and another bit where a dog got dragged out on stage dressed in costumes. They haven't quite caught up where animal exploitation is concerned.

araiwa · 29/01/2018 10:57

Vanguard- they certainly loved Piers Morgan

PiffIeandWiffle · 29/01/2018 11:00

Yes OP, I'm sure he sat down & came up with that all on his own between ordering the buffet & getting the red carpet back from the dry cleaners......

Whilst I think Corden is a knob anyway I don't think he's alone.

Stares hard at OP

DerelictWreck · 29/01/2018 11:00

You do realise this didn't actually happen?

No-one went home with a puppy, it was a joke as part of his hosting and yes on puppy was there for the filming bit.

The80sweregreat · 29/01/2018 11:04

I read that as Jeremy Corbyn handed out puppies!
sounds a bit grim to be honest. I'm not a doggy person so i wouldnt have been impressed at all. Poor animals though - not good for them either.

FizzyGreenWater · 29/01/2018 11:06

It's ok. I've just heard on Sky News that the RSPCA have caught him (Corden).

Don't fancy his chances now. They're saying he's looking at a minimum of 20 years in Battersea without parole.

Goodbye James Corden.

Sparklingbrook · 29/01/2018 11:07

I am not a doggy person either and would not thank you for a puppy. Now if it were kittens... Grin

Scabbersley · 29/01/2018 11:08

God OP, what an overreaction.

Are you usually this gullible?

WellThisIsShit · 29/01/2018 11:08

Oh, it feels a very mis-timed kind of stunt doesn’t it?

For all responsible though, not just the comedian.

Very last days of Rome type of weirdness. Just pass out the puppies as the world goes down...

RaquelWelch · 29/01/2018 11:09

I would say it was a "Joke", do you remember them? I doubt they really expected the celeb's to take the puppies home

cista · 29/01/2018 11:10

Revolting behavior! Those poor animals.

Stunts like this feed the notion that animals are nothing more than cute disposable objects, which they absolutely are not! Everyone involved, including COrden, should be ashamed. Sad

Booie09 · 29/01/2018 11:12

Just read they were given out for a cuddle not to be taken home!!

Booie09 · 29/01/2018 11:13

They aren't prizes!

derxa · 29/01/2018 11:18

This reminds of the wedding shower in the film Bridesmaids where puppies were given out as favours. Melissa McCarthy's character took 9 away with her. It was very funny. I hate JC but this was obviously a Joke.

Flamingo84 · 29/01/2018 11:24

From the reports I've seen the puppies were given to the losers to ‘borrow’. It was supposed to be a gimmick consolation prize, cuddle a puppy to get over the loss, then it goes back home.
There were probably about 300 members of PETA in the audience so I’m sure the puppies were safe and well!

MarsBarsAreShrinking · 29/01/2018 11:35

I'm disappointed that so many people seem to be defending this, that it was just a "joke" and that the OP should calm down etc...

There are 2 things wrong with this - firstly, the puppies must have been scared at all the noise... I don't give a shit what anyone says about them being looked after, they WOULD have been frightened and the last time I checked, scaring vulnerable baby animals wasn't funny. Secondly the message it sends; that puppies are suitable prizes/gifts, never mind the fact that they're actual live animals.

James Cordon is a fucking disgrace for his part in this.

Skarossinkplunger · 29/01/2018 12:34

I realise it was a joke which was why I used the inverted commas in my OP. But joke or not there were still very young puppies being handed round in a completely inappropriate setting and adding to the giving a living thing as an unasked for
presents.

I’m honestly shocked at how many people think this is OK, I knew that the majority of people on here seem to be anti-dog but this has saddened me. But if most of you think I’m unreasonable then I’ll take it. —Although I still think he’s a knob for doing it—

OP posts:
Scabbersley · 29/01/2018 12:35

I love dogs. Mine would be delighted to be passed round by James Corden. They think everyone loves them.

Luckily I have a sense of humour and perspective.

HollyBayTree · 29/01/2018 12:41

LOL @ the OP - you made it to No 5 on the google list for James Cordon!

Strokethefurrywall · 29/01/2018 13:00

Goodness me, scum of the earth for the murderous, tortuous act of.... "handing out puppies for a cuddle".

Jesus Christ, it's all well and good to dislike James Corden if you so wish (disclaimer: I love him), but for the love of fuck, get some fucking perspective. It was s gimmick, puppies were cuddled and handed back. Anyone with half a brain would realize that, does it really warrant such frothing and hatred for a uk presenter?

What a sad sad life you must lead...

Skarossinkplunger · 29/01/2018 20:19

PETA saying it much better than I did.

ZanyMobster · 29/01/2018 20:23

They were given out to cuddle as a consolation, not as gifts FFS. They looked very calm TBH.

Mulberry72 · 29/01/2018 20:28

Corden is a twat.

I saw somewhere that he, Sting and Shaggy were attempting to do Carpool Karaoke on the subway in the US and one of the other passengers took offence and walloped Corden one when he wouldn’t stop singing.

Now that, I’d pay good money to see!

Batteriesallgone · 29/01/2018 20:29

Sick.

And no I don’t think his part in it is ok because it was probably someone else’s idea. If you are asked to do something morally wrong at work you should push back against it. The more power / money / authority you have, the more responsibility you have to push back. JC has fame / money / power, he was in a position to say this is wrong. But he didn’t.

That makes him a dick.
