A friend of my cousin has just tagged my cousin and a load of other friends in a list of female names titled ‘Women’s most likely to kill their partners’.

Usually designed to raise a smile I guess but my cousin lost her long term partner to cancer less than a year ago, obviously her friend knows this. He died at home with my cousin and Macmillan nurses present.

Aibu to think that this is truly insensitive? My cousin hasn’t responded at all so unsure if she’s seen it yet. My heart is breaking for her.

Why are they supposed to be likely to kill them anyway? Because they have rows? Because the partner's deserve to die? Because the women are violent? I don't even see the funny side. It's nasty on every level.

I would message the friend 'as cousin's beloved partner has already died, I think your post is very insensitive to cousin, you may wish to delete it before she sees it to save her any upset'

People can be stupid and thoughtless.

i hate any posts that glorify domestic violence or portray it as funny. i have noticed in media sometimes silly quips about women killing or throwing things at their partners. if it were the other way round we would rightly be shocked and horrified.
