Sorry it’s a Facebook one!

A friend of my cousin has just tagged my cousin and a load of other friends in a list of female names titled ‘Women’s most likely to kill their partners’.

Usually designed to raise a smile I guess but my cousin lost her long term partner to cancer less than a year ago, obviously her friend knows this. He died at home with my cousin and Macmillan nurses present.

Aibu to think that this is truly insensitive? My cousin hasn’t responded at all so unsure if she’s seen it yet. My heart is breaking for her.

Oh god, those "names most likely to" memes are so stupid and absurd at the best of times, but this one takes the prize.

southboundagain · 27/01/2018 22:36

"Pretty tasteless thing to tag anyone in, never mind your poor cousin."

I completely agree.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 27/01/2018 22:40

Mental - I sometimes assume that they just don't want to leave me out. But yeah, I sometimes do find fb a bit tempting - seeing folk drinking fizz but then I remind myself "play the movie to the end" and imagine the hangovers the next day...I do hope no-one tags you in the posts about dieting!

OP - I hope it was deleted before your friend saw it. Well done you for taking swift action.

She said 'whoops' with a smiley face?! What a massive arsehole! I'd have to call her out on that one.

NoSquirrels · 27/01/2018 23:11

“Whoops”? “Whoops”???!!

Fuck. People have forgotten how to communicate if a smiley emoji is meant to convey remorse.

grannybiker · 27/01/2018 23:15

She's an insensitive twat,
Unlike the people who think they're being supportive sending me all these "Repost in honor (sic) of someone battling cancer," "Post this heart on your wall," blah-blah messages and tags.
I don't need telling about the importance of checking my remaining breast either.
A different scenario, but bear it in mind next time you're asked to forward something similar ;)

Urgh this 'friend' of your cousin sounds like a bitch. Even if she doesn't know the circumstances surrounding her DH's death, she will still be aware of the fact he's passed away. Why the fuck do people feel the need 🤦🏻‍♀️ Personally, I only ever tag people that I know really well in things on Facebook.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 27/01/2018 23:46

Whoops? Hmm

Message her back with ‘you’re a twat’.

FlashTheSloth · 28/01/2018 00:23

I'd have to respond to that! Fucking "whoops", she didn't just break a glass of something equally trivial. Some friend she is!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 28/01/2018 13:01

Sadly my cousin did see it before it was deleted.

Gosh my heart aches for her. How can anyone be so cruel?

I hope you messaged the ‘friend’ back.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 28/01/2018 18:23

Hmm I haven’t. Not really sure what to say.

I'd defriend for that. On fb and in real life.
