To think this delusional dirty pervert should stay exactly where he is and starve if that's what he wants?

There is currently a delightful person on hunger strike because the prison service won't "recognise their gender" and send them to a women's prison.

see here

Nobody seems to want to mention the fact that they are in fact a sex offender and voyeur who broke into teenage girls bedrooms to wank into their underwear Hmm

Why the hell they think they should be in a women's prison is completely beyond me. Anyone able to enlighten me?

This person committed their crimes as a he and should stay as a he until he has paid for his crimes.

@balsamicbarbara, most women on MN aren't TERFs. They don't think that if you are born with a penis, you are male for life. They think that if you still have a penis you are still male. Post-operatively that changes. Any woman should have the right to refuse to share sleeping quarters with someone with a penis if it makes her uncomfortable, including vulnerable women in prison.

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 27/01/2018 20:05

That man is a right wrong un.

colouringinagain · 27/01/2018 20:08

Tweeted. Absolutely disgusting.

ladyballs · 27/01/2018 20:10

If you are born with a penis you are a man for life. But if you transition I'll do you the courtesy of calling you by your new name. But we'll both know that you're not a woman

PencilsInSpace · 27/01/2018 20:11

balsamicbarbara do you believe this person should be treated as female and moved to the women's estate?

OlennasWimple · 27/01/2018 20:11

Oh FFS - I've just read the full "statement" that Marie's "supporters" released: here

Now I'm really angry

  1. Marie was released from prison, but recalled due to breach of licence
  2. the author of the statement clearly doesn't understand the difference between sex and gender
  3. "All she ever wanted to do was move forward with her life after working hard to identify the true cause of her offending." So it was being trans wot made him do it.... Hmm But MIT never commit crimes against women! (We are told). But obviously if they do, they are the real victims, because it's only as result of their trans status Hmm

used to love the Guardian. Then it got all uppity, lost its sense of humour, and became a house magazine for certain viewpoints, rather than a forum for open debate.

It never had a sense of humour. Or a sense of irony. Considering that it claims to be a left wing socialist outfit but stuffs it's lifestyle pages with £15,000 sofas and £3,000 dresses and £1,500 pairs of shoes and expensive imported foodstuffs.

If we had actually proper socialism here most of it's readership would be fucked. As it is Corbyn won't touch most of the cunts because they're his 'establishment'.

balsamicbarbara · 27/01/2018 20:22

do you believe this person should be treated as female and moved to the women's estate?

If they meet the commonly used criteria, yes. This would involve, I believe, living in the style of the new gender for at least a year though, so dressing appropriately mostly. You don't stop being a person on medical grounds because you're a prisoner.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 20:26

This kind of wooly headed, doesn't even know what the law they're supporting says nonsense is exactly why we're now in a position where the Guardian thinks it can get away with advocating for a serial sex criminal to be moved to a women's prison.

DarthArts · 27/01/2018 20:26

. You don't stop being a person on medical grounds because you're a prisoner.

Neither to the women prisoners who would be expected to share their space with a convicted sexual predator.

Why do his rights overide theirs?

UpstartCrow · 27/01/2018 20:27

why are mens rights so much more real to you than womens?

UpstartCrow · 27/01/2018 20:29

Does anyone have the figures of the number of male and female sex offenders currently in prison? Isnt is about 12,000 to 140?

Female prisons arent built to take violent men.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 20:31

14000 to 120 I think.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 27/01/2018 20:32

How does one 'dress appropriately' as a woman?

In prison or otherwise.

balsamicbarbara · 27/01/2018 20:32

why are mens rights so much more real to you than womens?

Translation: Trans women aren't really women.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 20:33

Ooh, do I need opera gloves? Wouldn't want to dress inappropriately for a woman.

Hmm
OfaFrenchmind2 · 27/01/2018 20:34

balsamicbarbara Well, yes.

PencilsInSpace · 27/01/2018 20:35

Actually lots of us do think that if you're born with a penis you are male for life. A woman is not just a man without a penis. Male and female are terms relating to sex:

Female = of the sex that produces ova
Male = of the sex that produces sperm

I am not at all happy for any male to be placed in a women's prison because even if they have had genital surgery they will still be much bigger and stronger than an average woman and they will have been socialised as male. Additionally they will be far more likely to have been imprisoned for a violent crime and massively more likely to have been imprisoned for a sexually violent crime than a female prisoner. And female prisoners don't have the option of removing themselves from the situation.

These are gender critical views by the way, not 'TERF' views. The only way the word TERF is ever used is as a slur or as hate speech, used to justify male violence against women. I've seen a few women lately trying to 'reclaim' the term. It was never ours to begin with though and IMO they are playing a dangerous game.

Butterymuffin · 27/01/2018 20:37

balsamicbarbara would you disagree with the idea that Marie Dean poses a danger to prisoners in a female prison? The MoJ guidelines on trans prisoners allow for not moving them to the prison type of their choice if this applies.

Scabbersley · 27/01/2018 20:37

I don't believe people born male can ever be women. They can be transwomen. I imagine 95% of the population agrees with me.

makeourfuture · 27/01/2018 20:38

Considering that it claims to be a left wing socialist outfit

The guardian is not, nor does it claim to be, socialist. It is a liberal paper.

Soubriquet · 27/01/2018 20:39

I bloody knew someone would say "oh she only did the crimes because she was so traumatised at having to be male when she was female inside"

Sick fuckers
