To think this delusional dirty pervert should stay exactly where he is and starve if that's what he wants?

There is currently a delightful person on hunger strike because the prison service won't "recognise their gender" and send them to a women's prison.

see here

Nobody seems to want to mention the fact that they are in fact a sex offender and voyeur who broke into teenage girls bedrooms to wank into their underwear Hmm

Why the hell they think they should be in a women's prison is completely beyond me. Anyone able to enlighten me?

And Justine Greening has been massively influential in proposing the most damaging legislation and she is a Tory.

Geronimoleapinglizards · 27/01/2018 17:55

I used to love the Guardian

Forget #peaktrans, I think I'm finally at #peakGuardian now. This is potentially so damaging and it so utterly shafts women.

I won't be giving the newspaper any more of my money.

Datun · 27/01/2018 17:57

@thenightsky

Are there many (any) TIM prisoners who are not in for sex offences?

Of TIMs who are in prison, half are there for sex offences.

Self identification to gain a GRC would allow the 14,000 men in prison for sex offences to automatically be transferred to the female estate.

There are currently approximately 120 women in prison for sex offences.

Maria Millars report on trans-gender equality completely ignored assertions from the prison authority that this would happen

That sex offenders would ever think, in a month of Sundays, of identifying as woman in order to be transferred to their victims' prison.

(Eye fucking roll to the point of pain)

Beansonapost · 27/01/2018 18:04

I'm starting to get the feeling the U.K. legal systems cares more about criminals than they do about the victims.

Why would you even be pandering to someone like this? Just tell him to go ahead a die... the sooner the better less tax payer money being spent on shit.

Justabunchofcunts · 27/01/2018 18:06

Yes. Both sides are complicit in at least some ways in supporting this. Plus greens and lib dem.

Of them all, the Tories have so far been the most responsive, in that they have been delaying stuff. Oh and not expelling party members for trying to discuss some of the issues with Self ID and penises in women's spaces. Which to be fair I haven't seen outside Labour.

I think there are two problems. One, the issues aren't obvious if you don't think them through. Two, shutting down debate by screaming trans women are women. Three this creating a climate of fear at not being right on.

Andrewofgg · 27/01/2018 18:08

Only the fucking Grauniad could run a story like this with a slant like this. In its own weird way it can be as awful the Daily Hate Mail, can't it?

DPotter · 27/01/2018 18:14

Not directly applicable, but I've just heard a very interesting interview on BBC R4 iPM with a former DV police officer. Apparently prisons do not necessarily know the full charge for their prisoners. So they would know if someone was there for GBH, but not that it was for domestic violence against a partner. Sent chills down my spine.

flapsDentata · 27/01/2018 18:16

I think it’s worse. The Mail has many many faults, but every case of domestic violence it reports on. Every one. It campaigned for Stephen Lawrence’s murders to go to prison. As a campaigning paper it can be on the best, and other times it can be utterly cruel and hateful. The Guardian I haven’t read for ages, having deleted the app when it went full Corbyn Cult. The Times is the best.

Anyway, this is highly irresponsible, and the journalist has utterly ignored my questions. People? Fancy writing a letter to the editor. From Mumsnet?

MissionItsPossible · 27/01/2018 18:16

Starting!? I am not saying this as exclusively trans related but the uk legal system, imo, has always put more focus on the criminals rather than victims. I read somewhere a while ago that judges are mainly former defence lawyers and that may be the reason why but I don't know if that is true or just made up.

Datun · 27/01/2018 18:17

Justabunchofcunts

Yes!

whoputthecatout · 27/01/2018 18:17

Starting? Has done for a long time. In hock to the cuddly, touchy feely brigade with its hierarchy of victims - most deserving are those who are trans gender or immigrants (remember Cologne?). Women are supported only when there is no other group to emote about.

That article is a disgrace.

officerhinrika · 27/01/2018 18:21

I’ve emailed the Guardian Readers Editor that does corrections and clarifications. Don’t suppose they’ll take any notice but must try. I’m getting more and more irritated by the Guardian attitude to TIMs generally, May shortly no longer be a lifelong reader.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 27/01/2018 18:21

Meh. Isn't that part of the Frankfurt School's plan of cultural Marxism? Subvert the legal system so it favours the criminal over the victim?

Or do a bit of catalogue fraud and get banged up as easy meat for a load of TIM sex offenders (if you're female).

I thought rape as punishment was only something barbaric societies did.

flapsDentata · 27/01/2018 18:21

Gary Dean is on Facebook. He looks as female as Geoff Capes in a frock. He wasn’t ID’ng before prison, now he is.

Put Foxes in hen houses. We all know what happens.

YourVagesty · 27/01/2018 18:22

The language in this article! His fucking 'plight?'

My heart bleeds Guardian! Why don't you report more about the kind of person he is instead of falling over yourself to pity him.

Mummyoflittledragon · 27/01/2018 18:23

Pencils
Thanks for the link to the Scottish consultation. I’ve completed the form.

And thank you everyone on this thread and others for giving me the information to fill it in in an informed and measured way.

As for the poor ickle sex offender, I would say he can go fuck himself, although I think he’d rather enjoy it. I don’t believe he will have the gumption to follow through with this.

YourVagesty · 27/01/2018 18:26

We should boycott The Guardian. Who's with me?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/01/2018 18:38

I don't know why the Guardian gets a "free pass" compared to the Daily Mail, they are both as bad as each other ... ALL media has an agenda, not just the DM

Well said

Eltonjohnssyrup · 27/01/2018 18:45

Yes, but a lot of people lefties approve of the Guardians agenda therefore they approve of their distortions of the truth or censorship of certain facts.

It's only when you get to issues like Trans that the scales fall from many lefties eyes.

Another favourite wheeze of the Guardian is representing the activities of the (lovely, peaceful, well integrated) Ahmadiyya Muslims as representative of Islam as a whole. Without mentioning all other Muslims view them as heretics worthy of punishment and a lot of them want them all killed.

Soubriquet · 27/01/2018 18:47

Let the fucker starve.

Doubt it will get that far though since he is so arrogant.

He will begin eating soon and try and find another way to guilt the public.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 18:54

Another lefty here! This is bullshit, and I am not on board. If a sexual predator wants to starve himself to death then hey, his choice. He doesn't get to move to a women's prison because he's sad that his current location fails to offer a verdant garden full of potential victims.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 27/01/2018 18:55

I just told my (very Irish republican) husband about this. He laughed and said 'Bobby Sands had a blanket. Not a floral fucking tea dress and a pair of slingbacks'.

I called him a trabsphobe and he gave me the finger.

AngryAttackKittens · 27/01/2018 19:00

Yours is more eloquent than mine, mine just said "what the fuck?"

Butterymuffin · 27/01/2018 19:02

Yes, not being allowed your hair straighteners isn't exactly Nelson Mandela territory, is it?

MuseumOfCurry · 27/01/2018 19:03

Yes, but a lot of people lefties approve of the Guardians agenda therefore they approve of their distortions of the truth or censorship of certain facts.

Yep.
