BIL’s wedding in August, dh is best man, dd (14) bridesmaid and ds (11) an usher.

It won’t be super formal but I wanted something different to just a normal dress. Would wear hair in a messy side bun with a flower probably and have ordered a pair of gorgeous matching heels.

Opinions please lovely mumsnetters..Smile

OP as for this to be moved to style and beauty.

You will get more comments about practicality and style and less of the mob incensed you dare wear white.

Sarahh2014 · 21/01/2018 11:07

I think as long as there is a pattern it's fine for wedding if v pale colour

pinkbraces · 21/01/2018 11:09

It’s gorgeous and you will look amazing.
These kinds of threads really make me so happy my values differ so much from the numpties who insist on living by their own limited outlooks and standard.
You nasty fuckers should crawl back under your rocks.

OP you will look neither desperate or bridal and who actually judges other guests outfits. Some of you really need a hobby if that’s what you do. Just because some people don’t want to be sheep it doesn’t make them desperate.

Have a fab day at the wedding.

QueenArnica · 21/01/2018 11:10

Once again thanks to everyone who took
the time to post something constructive. I’m a tough cookie (have had cancer and major surgery) but some of the nastier unnecessary comments stung a bit. I didn’t know there was a style section so will know for next time. In the meantime I’ve asked for this thread to be deleted. Have a great day everyone Smile

ust because the bride was polite enough to say it is Ok, doesn't mean it is. If it is as pale/ white looking as it appears here, people will be talking about you and judging you.

And you Fox know the bride better than the OP. God seen it all on here. And I really doubt people will be looking at you and judging you!!!!! Dear God.

Except maybe to think who great you look.

And personally I do think you're part of the wedding party! You know if you are. Jeez.

It's a lovely cool outfit. No one is going to think you are too bridey. It's a bloody jumpsuit!

spiney · 21/01/2018 11:18

Story OP so exasperated at the misery on here.

You'll look fantastic.
Have a great day.

ForalltheSaints · 21/01/2018 11:18

August often has the few days of above average temperature (25C in the south of England)- will it be too hot to wear comfortably?

spiney · 21/01/2018 11:18

StoryHmm
Sorry Grin

Ah, part of thr wedding party is best man, bridesmaids, that sort of thing. Being close or staying the night before doesn't make you part of thr wedding party. Your husband and kids are part of the wedding party, you im sorry are not.

What utter nonsense. The wedding party comprise essentially the B&G's choice of people who are closely involved with the wedding and on the top table, if they have one.

kaytee87 · 21/01/2018 11:26

Why does the thread need to be deleted? Did I miss something? Aibu is always like this, some people don't seem to be able to disagree without being rude.

thedevilinablackdress · 21/01/2018 11:27

Come over to the Style & Beauty threads OP. We are less grumpy over there and more likely to offer constructive comments 😊
(Looks like a very suitable wedding outfit to me)

Tink2007 · 21/01/2018 11:29

It’s lovely but I’m confused by the “it’s not white” comment. It’s clearly white with splashes of black and grey?

Tink2007 · 21/01/2018 11:31

Just to add I would love to wear it but am on the short side so would look like an idiot 😂 Lucky you OP for being able to pull it off 😘

pollythedolly · 21/01/2018 11:37

I think it's fine! Don't delete thread get it moved instead.

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 21/01/2018 11:38

Pink telling someone you don’t think they are should wear something inappropriate and being honest why is one thing

Calling someone a ‘nasty fucker’ is a whole level worse and incredibly rude and aggressive. Judge yourself before you judge others.

Jaygee61 · 21/01/2018 11:41

I think it is beautiful and no one is going to think you are trying to compete with the bride.

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 21/01/2018 11:43

Jay - at least 30/40% of the posters on here would be thinking that

foreverandalways · 21/01/2018 11:44

Shoes are not the ones for this outfit...both not suitable for a wedding...never wear white to a wedding!

luckylavender · 21/01/2018 11:46

I wouldn't. It look a bit washed out & not formal enough for part of the wedding party.

whichwayisout · 21/01/2018 11:51

It's lovely.

TheNecroscope · 21/01/2018 11:53

I like it but it’s 100% polyester, wouldn’t be keen on that in summer.

Mummyoflittledragon · 21/01/2018 12:00

I don’t understand the need to delete a thread like this.

twinone · 21/01/2018 12:08

I think it's lovely, not for a short arse like me, but a long willowy person, yes.

Also can't see it's a problem for a wedding.

OutComeTheWolves · 21/01/2018 12:21

I love it. I've been looking for a jumpsuit to wear for a wedding in May so I might just order it for myself.
