Feral You lucky thing! I've only seem them live once. I'm a relatively new fan, and I'd kill to see them live on their hometurf.

I think we might have to wait until next year for a tour unfortunately, but it'll be worth the wait if we get a new album.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get to meet him. I've also got my fingers crossed that I get a second chance because I really want a hug next time.

Katyb1310 · 18/01/2018 21:10

Haha, is Chris Gascoigne really that short? I've never been sure if he was short or people like Alison king were tall Grin

MidnightExpress1 · 18/01/2018 21:10

Meet Julia Haworth from Corrie who played Claire she was in a pantomime Cinderella and we bumped into her in the cafe. My ds was about 5 at the time and was amazed at meeting Cinderella she was absolutely lovely and down to earth

Chocness · 18/01/2018 21:12

I met Jessica Alba in my local Waitrose a couple of months ago! She was sussing out if her ‘Honest’ brand would fit in there. I got talking to her management team and they introduced me to her. She was incredibly stuck up, quite miserable in fact, she made it very obvious that she was not interested in anyone talking to her. I was also surprised at how down to earth she looked, she always looks so stunning in photos. Not at all the same in real life!

GinisLife · 18/01/2018 21:12

Bruce Forsyth & Wilnelia. Lovely man and she's just soooo beautiful. She was pregnant with JJ at the time and had this perfect little bump. Shocked to see someone didn't like him. I was on one of his tv programmes and whilst we were rehearsing the crew were telling us how lovely he was and that when he said "see you upstairs for a drink after" he meant it - and did. They also worked on Blind Date and didn't have a good word to say about Cilla.

PersianCatLady · 18/01/2018 21:12

I have seen Paul Gascoigne around Bournemouth town centre a few times and spoken to him but it always makes me feel sad because he is a wreck of a man now.

tiredbutFESTIVE · 18/01/2018 21:13

I dated a “sleb” for a time when they were really quite famous.
It was a nightmare withpeople coming up to you, getting stared at, comments etc. Especially for me as I got the worst of both (stared at but also ignored!) I know that’s part of the deal if you’re in showbiz but it does get a bit “big brother” after a while, I can easily see how they end up being grumpy wankers. You don’t get to turn attention off when you’ve had enough of it or have a bad day.
There’s quite a few of “lovely” people on this list I’ve see being massive twats, and vice versa!

testpickles · 18/01/2018 21:14

Lord Seb Coe and Sir Chris Bonington

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 18/01/2018 21:17

Will Self is very lovely. There is something quite sad and dignified about him, and he's really really tall.

Craig Charles is a pain in the arse.

Rowan Atkinson counts the presence of "little people" in his vicinity as a dreadful intrusion.

Jenson Button used to be really nice and down to earth, now a bratty diva.

Not a personal one, but various people I work with have had dealings with Mario Balotelli. Apparently he is utterly bonkers and very loud, but very kind with it.

Prince Michael of Kent surprised me by not being an arse.

secondhoneymoon · 18/01/2018 21:19

Van Morrison - v unpleasant
Les McKeown - ditto
Jeremy Paxman -surprisingly lovely and not at all condescending as I thought he would be
Dermott O'Leary - lovely
Jason Merrells - really friendly and drop dead gorgeous
The lovely late Roy Castle - really friendly and unassuming
Duncan Goodhew - a sweetheart
Greg Proops - ignorant prat
I met a leading female athlete and a female gymnast at an event in the late 80s and they were both up themselves and beyond awful but I won't name them

FuzzyPenguin · 18/01/2018 21:20

Nicole Kidman she was nice enough.
I didn’t know it was her at the time, she was in my town filming at the steam trains and during a break she wandered around the town in her prosthetic nose. She commented refreshing it was to be treated like a normal person. She came into the shop I was working in so I did the normal customer routine, I did think she looked familiar but that as I was writing a paper at uni on the character she was playing. It was only when I read the interview about her walking in the town and put two and two together.

GinisLife · 18/01/2018 21:20

Bruce Penhall - he was world champion speedway rider, ended up as one of the policemen in CHiPS ( for those old enough to remember it) I was going out with someone who knew him and we used to get to go to the speedway with him in his car. Fans used to wait at the gate and stare in wondering who he was with. My nearest thing to fame 😂😂

Verbena37 · 18/01/2018 21:21

chicken Sam Wink

HarrietSmith · 18/01/2018 21:21

Kit Harington is a family friend rather than somebody I've just bumped into. So I'm fond of him.

MidnightExpress1 · 18/01/2018 21:23

I would love to met kit Harrington

Bowerbird5 · 18/01/2018 21:23

Quite a lot and they have been random meetings including Royalty, pop stars, Dalai Lama, Prime Minister of another country twice and I didn't intentionally go to meet them except Kim Wilde because she was doing a book signing at a garden festival which we go to regularly. She was lovely and the book is great.

LegallyBrunet · 18/01/2018 21:24

My OH met Scouting For Girls when they were at our Students Union. He said they were complete and utter dicks

ferriswheel · 18/01/2018 21:25

How do you all meet so many celebrities? I cant even imagine meeting one of them!

PLFDiDi · 18/01/2018 21:25

My best famous person story is Usain Bolt. My mate bumped into him and started chatting, not knowing who he was, i assumed he was a past internet date and to wind up my mate started inviting him to eat sainsburys sandwiches (we were in sainburys doorway) in a city park with us. Confusion all round, Usain was even trying to silently dig me out of my hole. Super dude, trying to save a bonkers stranger.

randomthoughts · 18/01/2018 21:27

Teddy Sheringham played peekaboo with my then 20 month old on a flight from Heathrow to Newcastle. Absolutely lovely guy, didn't realise who he was until my husband told me when we got off the plane.

alfagirl73 · 18/01/2018 21:28

Off the top of my head... (and can only go on my own experiences!)

Billy Connolly - fantastic - interesting to talk to.
Eddie Izzard - lovely
Kiera Knightley - up herself - rudely blanked a little girl who was desperate to meet her and was literally 2 feet away.
Helena Bonham Carter - very lovely and had a right go at a bloke who very aggressively tried to shove me out the way - took time to make sure I was okay.
Gok Wan - very nice
Gordon Ramsay - was charming to me.
Simon Cowell - was very nice.
Lee Arenberg - know him quite well - lovely and funny. Fascinating to talk to.
Johnny Depp - several times and every single time has been lovely, warm, kind, generous, gone out of his way to accommodate/help, and been very easy to talk to.
Alan Rickman - so sad he's no longer with us. Was absolutely charming.
Nicky Campbell - VERY rude!
Orlando Bloom - very lovely and friendly
Graham Norton - lovely and a bit mischievous
Brian May - quiet but very nice - insanely intelligent
Mark Shaw - SOOOOOO nice and sexy as hell.
Tim Burton - Lovely and humble
Arnie Schwarzenegger - very nice but very orange!
Rupert Friend - nice - humble and surprised I knew who he was

PLFDiDi · 18/01/2018 21:30

2nd favorite celeb story. Was drunk on tube, on walks Dane Bowers. I was another level fan and know all the words "I wanna lick you up and down....etc" which I sung at him and made a bit of a scene 😖. 6 days later I'm in Dublin's poshest hotel with my most important and v serious clients. Yeah, Dane Bowers sat on opposite side of bar and definitely knew who I was. Didn't say a thing. Thank you Dane, you are my mate forever xx

Pannalash · 18/01/2018 21:31

Did you mean to smack Rod Stewart in the bollocks Pagwatch?Grin
