lookingforthecorkscrew · 18/01/2018 21:31

Keira Knightley bullied one of my best friends at school, so she’s in my Bad Books

Becca8675309 · 18/01/2018 21:32

We had just moved into a house in Jack Nicklaus' new golf course development in Palm Beach. I spent about 20 minutes talking to him in the clubhouse bar. After he walked away my husband said "Oh my GOD, what were you and Jack Nicklaus talking about for so long?" I said "Was that Jack Nicklaus? I thought he was just some old guy who lives here." (a reasonable assumption, given that most people who live in Palm Beach are old, rich men who like to play golf). Anyway, as I was oblivious to his identity I actually told him I hated golf, but he was v. nice about it.

dementedma · 18/01/2018 21:34

Prince Harry was very nice. And tall.

FloControl · 18/01/2018 21:34

I bumped into Roger Daltrey in a hotel corridor on the Isle of Man nearly twenty years ago. He was carrying his own suitcase - no flunkies and hangers-on in sight. We had a brief exchange of pleasantries and continued on our separate missions. Just ordinary, unassuming, down to Earth, famous and wealthy (RD, not me).

rabbit12345 · 18/01/2018 21:35

@persiancatlady

No unfortunately I was a Year too young. Did see E17, worlds apart, EYC and 3T but no-one who made it as big as TT

ChickenVindaloo2 · 18/01/2018 21:35

Verbana - personally I fancy Britney more!

Ellybellyboo · 18/01/2018 21:35

Jamie Oliver - always thought he was a complete knobber but he was actually really lovely - so lovely I felt bad for all the horrible things I’ve said about him

Celia Imrie - very lovely, bit luvvie but was very patient with my daughter

Alan Titchmarsh - knobber

Mark King from Level 42 - I had never heard of Level 42 and had no clue who he was but he was a really lovely bloke

SheRasBra · 18/01/2018 21:40

Many, many years ago, the late Lewis Collins. Hot as anything. Many others not worth mentioning.

steff13 · 18/01/2018 21:42

I met David Tennant this past summer. He was lovely. And tall. And beautiful.

UsuallyJustLurk · 18/01/2018 21:43

I met lots through my work at the time...
Linford Christie was arrogant and downright rude
Dom Jolly was an arse
Daniel Bedingfield was quite scathing when I complimented him on his new song at the time
Tara Palmer Tomkinson was "announced" as she entered the building. No one batted an eyelid and there was a definite tumbleweed moment. Slightly awkward!
I met Katie Price twice and she was very sweet and courteous
Kylie Minogue was also lovely
And Orlando Bloom was very normal! I didn't even recognise him and only almost fainted when I saw his name Grin

Littlewhistle · 18/01/2018 21:43

Not celebrities as such but I've met a lot of darts players. One of the top Dutch players is lovely - time to chat and get photos taken with fans. The other is a prize knob who couldn't be bothered with anyone and buggered off before the end.

Teddy1970 · 18/01/2018 21:46

Tom Cruise, really really lovely, doesn't take himself too seriously
Cameron Diaz..very pleasant and very pretty
Ian Wright...top bloke, a right laugh
Teddy Sheringham...seemed nice enough
Glenn Hoddle..very quiet and unassuming.
Princess Michael of Kent, she was a surprise, I thought she'd be a diva but she was so ladylike and lovely.
What I've found out is the bigger the star the nicer they are ( there will be exceptions of course)
It's the Z listers who do the "do you know who I am " bullshit

UnicornRainbowColours · 18/01/2018 21:47

My mum saw angelina jolie in slefridges with one of her kids. Said she smiled at her seemed nice.

I’ve met a few of the cast from once upon a time at a convention. Lovely that includes Captain Hook (colin o’donoghue) Sean meguire, etc

I’m a nanny and one of my Nanny friends is a Nanny for a high profile family in Chelsea. She saw prince George and princess Charlotte at the library.

Also on the Nanny grapevine someone who temped for kate Middleton said she’s lovely

bibblebobblebubble · 18/01/2018 21:50

Tony Blair - very charming, was quite a magnetic personality back in the day
Gordon Brown - really really grumpy
Queen - good sense of humour
Bob Geldof - SO arrogant
Prince Charles - very genuine

alphajuliet123 · 18/01/2018 21:50

Phil & Kirstie - he was surprisingly sexy with a real twinkle in his eye, and she said she absolutely loved my shoes. Brownie points for both!

DamsonGin · 18/01/2018 21:50

I must move in the wrong circles.

Dad, however, had a brief chat with Linda Evangelista some decades ago without knowing she was famous and found her to be very pleasant.

Thermostatpolice · 18/01/2018 21:51

Roy Castle was the warmest, most joyful person I've ever met. Lovely man.

HotelEuphoria · 18/01/2018 21:51

James nesbitt very very loud and off his head on something, who knows what. Clive Owen at the same time, very polite, friendly and fit as

Denzil Washington on a street corner in NY 25 years ago, wouldn't give a poor British tourist (me) an autograph miserable sod. Nelson Mandela on the same trip but at a film premier - lovely with time for everyone.

ArcheryAnnie · 18/01/2018 21:52

BruceFoxton I am giggling like a mad thing at your Paul Weller conversation.

peachgreen utterly unsurprised Ralf Little was a knob.

SheRasBra OMG YOU MET LEWIS COLLINS. I am so very jell.

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 18/01/2018 21:52

I've remembered another one from ages ago - David Bailey the fashion photographer. I didn't know who he was to start with. He isn't particularly nice and looks and smells like a tramp.

Jodie Kidd always comes across as quite sweet on TV, but I've seen her being an annoying diva.

I've never met Jamie Oliver, but a few people I know have and they have all been impressed by his non-knobness. He is also taller than you think he is.

midnightmisssuki · 18/01/2018 21:52

I used to do PR in a very famous hotel and only looked after big clients so I’ve met loads, off the top of my head my top three nicest would be

Mohammed Ali
Sting
Will I Am from the BEP

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 18/01/2018 21:53

And I agree with everyone who's said how lovely John Thomson is. He's very polite and softly-spoken.

midnightmisssuki · 18/01/2018 21:53

I would give my right arm to meet Victoria Beckham though Grin

confusedhelpme · 18/01/2018 21:53

Hugh Grant - utter fucking arsehole

TopBitchoftheWitches · 18/01/2018 21:54

To pp who mentioned Stephen Mulhern, I found him to be quite nice, he was happy to have his photo taken with my children.

Just remembered Olly Murs, he was nice enough, posed for selfies with the kids about. This wasn't in a professional capacity either.
