OP posts:
peachgreen · 21/01/2018 18:40

@CharlieSierra Would be too outing to say but she worked for him directly rather than being involved in one of his shows etc. He treated her (and other staff) very badly.

MNOverinvestor · 21/01/2018 18:55

Brian May, lovely
John Sim, ok
Victoria Wood, not warm (fair enough)
Richard Attenborough, very lovely
Buzz Aldrin, nice
Neil deGrasse Tyson, funny, warm and very modest for an astrophysicist with 11m followers on twitter

DearyDearyDeary · 21/01/2018 18:59

I'm going to put my hand up to a positive experience with Cilla. Maybe she had her game face on (doing a TV bit with the Navy), but very nice to all.

Polarbearflavour · 21/01/2018 19:09

Shockers - yes, Sophia Loren was still beautiful. She was very gracious too.

MNOverinvestor · 21/01/2018 19:11

Oh, forgot...
Christopher Biggins, several times, honest enough to say he doesn't remember me but lovely and witty
Ian McKellan, helped him find redcurrant jelly in Waitrose. V nice.

CharlieSierra · 21/01/2018 19:13

@peachgreen interesting. It certainly wouldn't be true to say he is generally perceived to treat staff badly. Maybe it was a case of creative differences. Smile

Shockers · 21/01/2018 19:16

Russell Grant came to view a house near mine several times. He went into all the shops to ask about the area; my friend spoke to him and said he was very pleasant and a teeny bit ott Grin.

Shockers · 21/01/2018 19:19

Oh sorry, you only want the gits. Think of a tiny, ‘shouty’ 1960s pop star. She’s one of those that hotel staff aren’t allowed to look at directly. DH has worked with her twice.

Shockers · 21/01/2018 19:20

She sounds lovely Polar.

John4703 · 21/01/2018 19:25

Jimmy Carter met me when he was President of the USA. Princess Dianna had lunch with me a few years later.
More recently David Cameron had a meal in the same restaurant as me.
Let's be happy and realise that being important or famous does not matter.

MikeUniformMike · 21/01/2018 19:28

Ooh Princess Dianna. Would love to meet her.

shinygoldstars · 21/01/2018 19:48

Bruno Langley- total idiot, not at all surprised about the recent revelations!

Robert Webb was just so arrogant, 3 days on set with him and he didn't speak to anyone other than the director, v clear that we were all below him.

All the rest I've met have been averagely nice, with special mention to Julie Hesmondhalgh who is utterly lovely.

Thequeenisdeadboys · 21/01/2018 19:49

David Tennant - Nice
Kate Rusby - Lovely
The singer from Counting Crows - A bit arrogant.
Hilda from corrie. (saw her on a bus and she was nice)
John Barrowman - ok
David Gray - Bit arrogant too.
Beth Orton - Lovely
Kenny Dalgleish - friendly
Cerys Matthews - nice.
Ian McCullogh (sp) Echo and the Bunnymen - nice.
Marriella Frostrup - Lovely

ToothyMcPuthy · 21/01/2018 20:35

Austin Healey - I agree with all of other posters on this thread. He was an utter arsehat. Arrogant and rude.

I would love to hear more stories about Madonna. I would imagine she's terrifying.

peachgreen · 21/01/2018 20:36

@CharlieSierra Haha, I assume you're on his staff!

My mum met Nicholas Lyndhurst after winning a competition to meet him. She said he was very awkward, couldn’t make any conversation with him and was just a bit offish.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/01/2018 21:00

@Altwoo I absolutely love Nile Rogers. I'm so pleased you said he's lovely. I'm just reading his autobiography and what a life he's has!!!

JaneJeffer · 21/01/2018 21:09

Dermot O'Leary....am keeping schtum out with it!

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 21/01/2018 21:26

MIL still believes that Jools Holland was one of her charges when she worked as a nursery nurse, even though he isn't that much younger than her and has never lived where she does. There's another Julian Holland who's a bit musical floating about somewhere.

Ontheboardwalk · 21/01/2018 22:33

nettletheelf the fact that many many posters are completely ignoring your orders that yes, as originally posted this was a thread about being let down, but the fact that it has clearly moved on is a sign this thread is not for you.

I got a kiss from Adam Ant and he was lovely. I'll tell everyone that story.

Omgineedanamechange · 21/01/2018 22:36

Lawrence Llewelen Bowen, he was very nice.

Omgineedanamechange · 21/01/2018 22:38

On the boardwalk OMFG I am so fucking jealous. He only ran me over, I’d have cut off my arm for kiss.

Ontheboardwalk · 21/01/2018 22:49

omgineed what he ran you over?? What happened? Tell me before the thread police come along and tell us to shush. He offered me a fruit bonbon but I was too scared to accept and I was just at a record signing.

Actual bodily harm deserves so much more!

LemonadePockets · 22/01/2018 00:09

I met Kevin Bridges recently, lovely fella.

Paul O’Grady - awful

Matthew Kelly - lovely

Mel from Mel & Sue - lovely lady

Ted from Scrubs - became one of my pals by the end of the Edinburgh Fringe along with another member of his band called George.

Come across many many ‘celebs’ in my time (grand old age of 31 haha!) but these are the ones I had proper contact with that left an impression.
