Actually yes it is fucking U, and you'd have to be pretty ignorant to suggest it. Angry

For those who don't want to click Daily Mail fodder here's another link, although the Daily Mail link includes his twattish apology at the end.

At my rape trial, the defence said I’d dyed my hair and gained weight to try and make myself look less attractive.

I had to go through it twice as first trial ended in hung jury. Second time round I dyed my hair again, lost some weight and was questioned as to why I’d dyed my hair blonde, was it to seem more attractive?!

Luckily the second time round I wasn’t so intimidated or upset so I told him that he seemed upset the first trial so I did it to make a point - and that if someone can’t help raping someone based on their hair colour then they need serious help.

So while I’m appalled at that article, unfortunately I can believe it. Kind of wish mine had got into the papers for that comment to be heard.

numbereightyone · 18/01/2018 09:38

I read that yesterday. The solicitor is bound by a professional code of conduct which he has undoubtedly breached. He may get struck off or suspended for making such terrible remarks.

ChickenPaws · 18/01/2018 09:40

The war against women is gaining momentum.

Gileswithachainsaw · 18/01/2018 09:44

Oh just fuck off.

How dare he.

numbereightyone I believe he got a bit of a dressing down from the chairman of the magistrates for his remarks, and rightly so, but it hasn't been suggested he'd be reprimanded any further as far as I'm aware.

He will be Cobwebdust.

42andcounting · 18/01/2018 13:37

And he even says that the magistrate only took offence because she was a woman! The lack of awareness is just sickening Angry Sad

Unforunateseriesofevents · 18/01/2018 13:38

He makes it so much worse with his fauxpology doesn’t he? Being a woman is why the chair of the bench took offence, it wasn’t that he said something offensive. Bellend.

I can't help but think that a hand on the buttock as you get out of a swimming pool would be forgotten in 2 or 3 days.

Have you had experience to say how long it would take to forget?

Do you not think that a woman who suffered it would remember it the next time she was at the swimming pool?

Normalising it is not a good thing. On the contrary.

Lweji · 18/01/2018 14:12

I still remember such events that took place in secondary school. I'm 46.

So, hardly 2 days.

Cobwebdust · 18/01/2018 14:16

Oh fuck off.

FWIW it wasn't just a hand on the buttock as she got out of the swimming pool.

No experience hence "I can't help but think"

So, don't. Listen instead.

Otherwise, like the pp said.

the prosecutor said it was a shame the victim was not present in court to respond to the suggestion.

How fucking dare they.

Cobwebdust · 18/01/2018 14:24

iChanged the fuck off is bc you say it as fact as if you also believe it when you admit yourself you haven't experienced it.

"I can't help but think that a hand on the buttock as you get out of a swimming pool would be forgotten in 2 or 3 days."

A man grabbed my bottom when I was walking home from school at the age of 15, I have still not forgotten about it.

Lweji · 18/01/2018 14:25

So only people who have had someone squeeze their bum in a swimming pool can comment?

Only people who have had their bums squeezed will know how long they will remember it for.

If you haven't, you can't possibly say how long it takes to forget. Only think that you can't.
So, listen to the people who have instead.

NotAPuffin · 18/01/2018 14:26

I had the bride's sleazy shit of an uncle someone squeeze mine on the dance floor at a wedding when I was 15. I remember, and that was 22 years ago.

Cobwebdust · 18/01/2018 14:38

iChange it's sad that you seem to believe having your bum squeezed by a stranger is something we should all just accept.
Why should we accept it and forget? It's an invasion and not always something that is easily forgotten.
