A nod to Banzai there for old timers like me.

Old thread here.

Question is, is it Mueller time yet? Anyone fancy placing a bet on when Trump will exit the POTUS role?

My bet: 20 March 2019.

Looking at the sheer size of the protests happening across the country, it's clear the Resistance is the most underestimated, unappreciated, and underreported political movement in modern American history.

You do realize it's a crock and most of them are bused in and paid for by none other than George Soros. If you actually fall for this you need to seek professional help.

That is really off the scale delusional.

Pain, the Women's March got quite a bit of 'air time', but the#TrumpShutdown is getting the 'biglyest' share. Which I believe is the way it should be. The shutdown needs to be front and centre.

Re an above PP. I'm not surprised Scrotus is refusing to negotiate. He doesn't really know how. All his 'yuge business deals' have been negotiated by the lawyers and minions in his employ then he's just stepped in and signed the papers and does the photo-op. This is what he thought the presidency would be. He'd hire and send in 'his people' to do the real work of governance whilst he sat at his empty desk fiddling with his sharpie (yes, I do mean that like it sounds) waiting for them to bring him the 'done deal' to sign and take credit for. Then he'd tour around and receive the adulation of the masses. I don't think he's figured out yet that it doesn't work that way. Nor do I think he ever will. And as a result the GOP in Congress knows that it pretty much as free rein as long as they throw him a wall bone now and then and vomit up some flattery from time to time.

In contrast, in past shutdowns, the Presidents, from Reagan to Obama, have been hot on the phones from dawn til midnight calling the movers and shakers in both parties chiding them for a lack of cooperation and brokering deals to end the shutdowns.

I also took a look. My career included involvement in 8 shutdowns! Most of them were for a few hours or a day so I guess they didn't stick out in my mind. There were actually more during my career, but they were either weekends or didn't involve my agency.

How do you think it would play, Across, if 'someone' came out of the woodwork and.........pleaded with Schulosi to think of the troops? Wink

White House aides say Trump is being told to not give in by Mulvaney, McConnell, Marc Short, others. Wanted a full tv blitz this AM and has been monitoring coverage closely. "He's itching a little," one person says.

Thanks across that’s useful to know.

On the last thread, there was a thread about how trump’s deal-making usually start after people have signed up and aren’t then committed, when he’s then free to dick about and leave them with the consequences which they have to accept as they’re now tied in. It doesn’t translate well for the shut down.

Out of interest, how do you make a 'see-through' wall - unless it's mostly glass?
