... to feel disgusted at fox-chasing toff-twits!

On my way to a local town for lunch today, we had to slow down and stop as a horse came galloping up towards us in the middle of the road. On his back sat a dandified twit who was looking for his hounds. In the nearby field some 100 (I kid you not) other starched twits sat on brainwashed horses with hungry hounds running amok. Traffic swayed and stopped as these twits had clearly lost the little sense they had and were dispersing all over the highway, horses looking dazed at being led among cars at great speed on slippery tarmac. Hounds confusedly sniffing all over the road and verges. How much had these twit-toffs drunk? It was not yet noon!

My friends in our car tried to calm me down saying it must be a drag when all of a sudden a poor defenseless fox jumped on the dry-stone wall looking wild-eyed as it tried to determine whether he was safer making a run for it across a busy road or turn back into a field of crazed, uncontrolled hounds and drunken (British?) twits. The fox froze and the driver of my car sped on as I screamed with panic for the predictable fate of the fox.

Why the f*ck is a supposedly civilized country allowing this kind of savagery to continue?

Jesus Christ who the hell bred with tofftwatty and happypsychopath?!

First - your weird little villages where you clearly have fuck-all better to do are still only a tiny proportion of the country.

Secondly - happy really isn't understanding what people are saying, is she? It's so unbelievably patronising and unable to see the point to wank on about "fluffy foxes".

You. Think. It's. Fun. To. Watch. An. Animal. Being. Chased. And. Ripped. Apart.

That really is the bottom line of why people think you're grim. No more. No less.

VivaLeBeaver · 14/01/2018 21:49

Did you show your kids the ripped up foxes afterwards? Did you all have a little giggle and say how fab it all was?

Glad you enjoyed it Tofft. It was lovely at our local meet. Very enjoyable. Perfectly well behaved hounds and lovely civilised people. And not one protesting anti in sight!

DullAndOld · 14/01/2018 21:52

oh people that support foxhunting must have inbred children and live in 'weird little villages'?
you need to get a cop on to yourself Rebecca.

Tofftwitty · 14/01/2018 21:53

Then I took them home to shag their siblings before biting our neighbours rabbits heads off.

BertrandRussell · 14/01/2018 21:55

It amuses me how hunt supporters have pounced on a couple of sentimental comments and turn off triumphantly with them but ignored all the other ones!

Tofftwitty · 14/01/2018 21:56

Happy - a few years ago the hounds were off with kennel cough so there was an organised rid eon boxing day. The sabs still turned up and abused and attacked people out on a RIDE. They were told and could see there were no hounds and so no chance whatsoever of catching a fox and yet still they caused grief.

Rebeccaslicker · 14/01/2018 21:57

well done dull, you managed to understand a single post! Now maybe try a few more?

mustbemad17 · 14/01/2018 21:59

Bertrand it appears to be the name of the game! Still no comments regarding out of control packs tho...i guess if they ignore them they don't exist!

BertrandRussell · 14/01/2018 22:02

Yes, the cat sanctuary isn’t getting much comment. I wouldn’t have liked to be one of the whippers in of that pack when the Master got hold of him......

DullAndOld · 14/01/2018 22:04

Rebecca - why are you talking to me like that? Are you trying to suggest I am stupid? Let me assure you that I am far from it.

So far you have said that hunt supporters are 'inbred' that their chidren are 'inbred' and now you are trying to patronise me and make out that I am stupid.
YOu are not doing yourself any favours with this line of 'argument'. love.

mustbemad17 · 14/01/2018 22:06

I notice too that many anti hunt comments have included the notion that hunt sabs who deliberately injure or interfere causing injury should be dealt with. Have seen a couple of half hearted 'well some hunts might need watching' but on the whole the pro hunt bunch seem to completely glide over the abuse, aggression etc exhibited by many hunts.

I would absolutely love it if the hunt master in question was charged with out of control dogs over the CHAT situation. Likely won't happen, sadly, but it would set a wonderful example

HappyLabrador · 14/01/2018 22:07

Sounds like typical behaviour from the mindless fools Tofft. Harrassing a hunt with no hounds? That’s a special kind of stupid 😂

Proves they’re not really there for the foxes though doesn’t it?

BoneyBackJefferson · 14/01/2018 22:07

Rebeccaslicker

your weird little villages where you clearly have fuck-all better to do are still only a tiny proportion of the country.

not as tiny a proportion as you would think.

there are whole swathes of countryside areas where its still 1950 (if you are lucky)

Rebeccaslicker · 14/01/2018 22:09

Boney - aye, I grew up in one! Nobody there liked hunting, though

Ah Dull - it's not my posts that imply you are stupid, love Smile

SignoraStronza · 14/01/2018 22:10

Could I just clarify a few things. Drag hunting and Trail hunting are two completely different things. Drag hunting has always existed and involves hounds following a pre-laid scent. It does not involve the killing of any animals.
'Trail Hunting' on the other hand, is basically just foxhunting carrying on as usual. Trails aren't usually laid and most of them still use terrier men, noticeable by their unlicensed quad bikes carrying boxes in which sits a terrier or two ready to dig out foxes that have gone to ground (If the hunt hadn't already blocked up most of the available holes). Terrier men are definitely not toffs by the way. In my experience, they're generally rough as fuck and are paid by the hunt to do the dirty work. As well the cruelty inflicted on their dogs and foxes, their other purpose is to intimidate, threaten and assault hunt monitors, sabs and anyone they deem to be in their way. These 'men' help keep the hunt kennels supplied with cubs, freshly dug from their earth and released into a pack of baying hounds to ensure they get the scent and taste fur hunting.
As for those on horseback... well, they might not all be toffs, but it is ridiculous to say that you don't have to be rich to go hunting. Plenty of city bankers returning to their weekend country pile among local hunts I've known. I also find it interesting that those in charge of a horse are treated differently than those in charge of motor vehicles in so much as they can get trollied at the country pub (have worked at these pubs, I know exactly what I'm talking about) and continue to drink as they ride on the roads.
Hunting does not control the fox population. I've seen many an artificial earth, meaning that hunts at the very least 'encourage' the foxes.

HappyLabrador · 14/01/2018 22:11

Hmmm, I think I might change my name to HappyPsychopath. I like that. Thanks Rebecca

mustbemad17 · 14/01/2018 22:12

Joining a hunt (on horseback) is definitely not cheap. Many are really bloody strict about what you can wear!! So yeah I agree with Signora in that sense, it does involve a decent cost. Unless you know somebody who owns hunt horses and has spare jackets!

BoneyBackJefferson · 14/01/2018 22:13

Rebeccaslicker
aye, I grew up in one! Nobody there liked hunting, though

pretty much 50/50 where I lived, both sides had a desire for violence though.

Rebeccaslicker · 14/01/2018 22:14

You're welcome, happy. After all, it's easier to do that than type out a sensible, coherent argument to justify yourself, isn't it?

WashingMatilda · 14/01/2018 22:16

This thread is awful.

mustbemad17 · 14/01/2018 22:18

Just had another status pop up on my FB feed from a set of eco lodges (on private land) in Devon. A pack of hunt hounds rampaged through their grounds, terrifying a field of horses & running amok uncontrolled. The hunt? Not even within sight. How is that even legal?!
