Facebook friend request aargh fuck

Accidentally sent someone a Facebook friend request but cancelled it immediately. Will the person still be able to see that I sent the request???!! Fuck's sake.

Urgent answers needed please!!!

it will go from their notifications, but they might still have got an email.

Big issues being handled here.

Probably won't. Doubt anyone has email notifications on these days - you get bombarded. Cancel it and you'll be fine, it won't pop up otherwise.

Facebook-stalking someone I've been seeing from Tinder (due diligence of course Wink). Fuck now they'll think I'm a crazy fucking psycho Blush

I had someone do this it appeared on my phone (I was on it) as a request and then disappear - if they have it set up on a smart phone they may well see it if it pops up when they are on it

I'm always accidentally sending friend requests to people I don't know. I have very glitchy internet & it jumps about lol. I just block immediately and forget about it. I get occasional random requests & just decline them assuming someone is as rubbish with Facebook as me!

To be fair, if it's someone you've been seeing anyway then a friend request isn't that weird. In fact to be honest it'll probably look weirder that you cancelled it.

My mum accidentally liked a twitter photo from about 3 years ago from a guy I’d just started dating! He’s now my husband so she didn’t scare him too much.
She also stalked him on LinkedIn... thanks mum.

An old girlfriend of DH's once accidentally sent him a friend request then retracted it quickly. Unfortunately for her I was using his phone at the time and saw the notification pop up. Gave me a giggle but I didn't think anything of it, everyone has a good old nosey on fb now and then!

I did this with an ex’s girlfriend after hearing he was in a new relationship - the ultimate in embarrassment. I genuinely only looked at her profile out of sheer nosiness/curiosity and felt instantly sick when I accidentally sent her a friend request.I did deactivate my profile immediately for a few days. My hope was that in the event that she had received an email notification and clicked through to see who I was, she’d see that my profile didnt exist, maybe think she’d received an erroneous notification, be too lazy to wonder further, delete the email and have completely forgetten about it (me) by the time I reactivated my profile.

I want to believe that everybody goes down the occasional Facebook rabbit hole, so try not to feel too bad Wink.

I remember when I first used Facebook, I'd searched a woman that my then partner had slept with behind my back. Instead of searching in the search bar, I'd typed her name as my status..and hadn't properly realised.. until a good few minutes, which felt like years, which led to tears Grin

I will say that I use a gmail address for Facebook, and my notification emails go to the ‘social’ tab, which I never check 😊

I dont get emails when i get a friend request.

I realised id sent the female friend of my x a request a while ago but i wasnt stalking her. I must have accidently clicked add when looking at friends u may know.

They won't get an email if they have stopped email notifications as I have done.

They probably would have had a notification pop up on their phone. I had this a while ago with a female friend of DH who I suspect used to fancy him. She was obviously having a nosy on my profile!

Oh dear, I feel sick for you!
Best just be honest, text and say you were stalking him, and it was a very awkward accident! And that you’re mortified.
If he’s a good human he will find it funny. If not, he’s a dick and you’ve lost nothing.
