Is it snobby of me to not want it in my bedroom?

DP wants us to have a TV in the bedroom.

We already have a massive TV in the living room, when actually when I lived alone, I never had one in the first place (would just stream films if in the mood for watching something).

I told him it just didn't sit right with me, a TV in the bedroom, and he said I was being a snob.

But I'm right aren't I?

Can anyone help me pinpoint why exactly it feels wrong? It just does to me, anyway!

Have you got a telly in your bedroom?

I’m with you op. But probably because when i was with my ex-husband, he refused to work, I was working all hours, then as soon as I got home, he’d declare he was ‘going to watch some tv in bed’ and go off upstairs to watch tv in bed all evening leaving me to cook tea, wash up, sort kids out, organise everything for the next day, clean the house, do bath and bed for the kids....hence why he is now ‘ex’ lazy twat

As a child we were the last in the street to get a TV. It was in the sitting room and when not watched was covered with a lace tablecloth as if it was some vulgar monstrosity. We were also the last to convert to clout TV. I have never wanted a TV in bedroom although I do watch now and then on my iPad. I get two sleeps a night, one downstairs in sitting room, I always, without fail, fall asleep in front of TV. I wake up about 1.00 am, let out the dog, and then go up to proper bed to get proper sleep. Even if only for a few hours. In the morning, radio 4 goes on when I wake up, it's better than a screen as you are not distracted. Funny though that I find it decadent to have a TV on when staying in a hotel room. I think for me it's the look of the thing.
As to tomatoes in salads, when I was a child salad was soggy lettuce with salad cream. How common am I? I adored it and ate it all the time. I don't think Mayonnaise existed then, or French Dressing, certainly not in a Sussex backwater. My sister only converted to colour TV 7 years ago! And yes, fitted carpets are common but when you have concrete floors there is no alternative unless you go down the wooden floor path. Technology looks best when you can't see it INHO.
