Just watching a programme we recorded over the holidays about the recording of the song and it is quite simply the best ever song imo.

Is this the real life?

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 07/01/2018 16:16

Just fantasy!

Unevenbeard · 07/01/2018 16:17

YANBU - such a progressive song especially with their use of mulitracking vocals

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 07/01/2018 16:17

Ahem... sorry.

Yabu. There are better Queen songs imo, not even considering all songs by all bands, ever.

My favourite song of all time ever is Standing In The Doorway by Bob Dylan. It’s a tear jerker though!

I hate it with a passion.

I hate it with a passion.

buggerthebotox · 07/01/2018 16:19

I saw that programme too. I think it probably deserves the title of greatest chart topping song, yes.

I'm old enough to remember it first time round. Smile

Tippz · 07/01/2018 16:22

It's great, but not the best song ever IMO. Not even the best QUEEN song.

I prefer 'Innuendo,' 'Don't Stop me now,' and 'we are the Champions.'

yawning801 · 07/01/2018 16:27

Bugger. I'm going to have it in my head all evening now.

I prefer some bits to others. My favourite bit is the "Carry on, carry on" bit. Some parts I don't like, like the first bit. It's like bubble and squeak in song form: little bits of everything mashed together.

noeffingidea · 07/01/2018 16:28

Absolutely hate this song. I can remember when it was number 1, for like forever. Drove me mental. And then it got a second life with Wayne's world.

MycatsaPirate · 07/01/2018 16:30

Don't stop me now is also fantastic. I love Queen, they really were such a brilliant band. I do miss Freddy and his flamboyant costumes and cheeky smile.

They showed a review of the song by NME which basically said it was shit. I wonder how much money that 'shit song' made for the Queen over the years? :o

no greatest pop song is Good Vibrations it took two years to record and missed being included in Pet Sounds as it wasn’t quite ready

TenancyTroublesAgain · 07/01/2018 16:32

It's iconic yeah but it's not a song I ever want to listen to. It's a bit much.

Ellybellyboo · 07/01/2018 16:35

I like it, but as others have said I don’t even think it’s the best Queen song, let along best song ever

I saw them with Adam Lambert a couple of years ago and Who Wants To Live Forever reduced me to tears

I prefer Don’t Stop Me Now

whoareyoukidding · 07/01/2018 16:36

It's alright I suppose Smile

RoseWhiteTips · 07/01/2018 16:37

Hate it.

GrumpyOldMare · 07/01/2018 16:46

Can't stand it or the group! Awful song.

Cocolepew · 07/01/2018 16:47

No it's crap .
The Queen love passes me by.

MadisonAvenue · 07/01/2018 16:49

It's really not.

Cocolepew same here.

Amanduh · 07/01/2018 16:50

I think it's terrible, but I don't like any of their songs really. Not my kind of thing.

The80sweregreat · 07/01/2018 16:50

I too remember it the first time around. I like it and them , but can see why it grates! Somebody to love is better.

Petalflowers · 07/01/2018 16:51

In the past, it quite often got voted as listeners favourite song in polls.

LookAtTheOwl · 07/01/2018 17:02

It's a brilliant song, but I think Seven Seas of Rhye and Hammer to Fall are slightly better.

FaceOddity · 07/01/2018 17:10

Hammer to Fall is my favourite Queen song or Somebody To Love.

They were very progressive for their time and I do love bohemian rhapsody
