Frustrated with the multiple cars my neighbour has! (Title edited by MNHQ)

I am absolutely raging!

We live on a lovely little street which just so happens to be a dead end, we live right at the bottom of the street and there’s houses either side, the law of the land forever and a day has been the left hand side of the road is left clear whilst vehicles park on the right hand side of the road (outside their houses!).

A new family moved into a house half way down the street on the right hand side, and own 9 vehicles - yes that’s right 9 vehicles for just him and his wife!!

Now, this is where the problem starts...next to my property is a small area of unused land, where these lovely folk seem to park 4/5 of their 9 vehicles causing myself and OH not to be able to get our cars onto our drive as they park adjacent to our driveway.

We’ve tried various different ways to resolve the problem, we’ve spoken to them (they didn’t take a blind bit of notice!), I phoned the police as 2/4 vehicles are actually declared SORN so shouldn’t be there but as the land is owned by LA it’s not deemed as being a public highway so there was nothing they could do, I’ve phoned DVLA & reported it that way, I’ve spoken to the LA that own the land to see if they have permission to be parking the SORN vehicles on their land and to be honest I don’t seem to be getting anywhere fast!

Besides taking the matter into our own hands I really don’t know what else we can do? I’m so fed up! I’m beginning to hate living here & to be honest I just want to be able to put our vehicles on our double driveway - surely that’s not too much to ask?

Sorry for such a long whinge post but it’s just really getting me down! Please please please let me know if you have ANY suggestions as to how I can rectify this problem! I’m at the end of my tether!

Sorry, if someone has suggested this - haven't rtft but try writing to your local councillor. Ask them to come and visit you at home. They might get more joy from the LA who own the land.
Or you could try asking 101 if a pcso could come and have a chat with them. It may not be illegal but it's anti social of
Them to routinely block your access to your property.
Or you could try knocking on their door and politely asking them to move the car every time you need to get in and out of your drive. I'm sure they'll get bored of that very quickly.

I sympathise as I am going through a problem with a neighbour who uses their 5 vehicles to reserve spaces. They have 4 adults in the house and as soon as one goes out another rushes out to reposition the vehicles so there are no spaces for anyone else. It's maddening.

OP mentioned they are part on the verge & part off the verge opposite her garage therefore taking up road space too, & it's narrow alley.

How good a gardener are you? I’d investigate quick and extremely leafy growing seeds/plants and perhaps do a little bit of sneaky planting on said waste ground all around the cars...

Hehehe! Clever idea Lynz!

I’ve had a mare this morning already, yesterday we bought a new car, where previously I didn’t mind ‘bumping’ the old car as necessary to get it on the drive the new one is slightly different there is no way on God’s earth that one will be doing the same!

OP - you really must see a lawyer after finding out what rights you have over this land. Only then you can stop and think what your remedies are.
