To ask for your holiday disasters?

I’ve sprained my ankle badly.

It’s just me and my iPad, the family are having a great time.

Camping in south of France. Hit by a tornado. Get back to Le Harve and can't get 2 hotel rooms - ferries delayed due to weather. So Mum and me sleep in ferry port. Except that closes at midnight. Security guy took pity on us and other family (Dad and 2 teens) so let us stay til 4am. They we all crowed in doorway whilst a storm raged.
Ferry crossing back was horrendous due to storms and they close restaurant due to number of people chucking up.
It's at point I sobbed due to exhaustion and hunger and they took pity on me and gave me a full fry up for free.
I'm glad I don't get sea sickness

Flying to Lapland. Stuck on runway (Gatwick) in snow for 2 hours. Take off. Land and are told last flight out before airport shut and await details of return (or if we are returning!).
Flight home on time. Just about to start landing descent and told back up at airport and no space to land so being diverted. To Glasgow

Lanzarote 2 Years ahi. Was doomed from the off! Delay flying out. Got to the apartments really late to find we had to collect keys from a bar which was closed found a number to ring and sorted but got into apartment and they hadn’t put the cot in so had to ring again (was 2am by this point!)
Then my dad got poorly with a suspected urine infection but was so bad he had to have a catheter inserted for the duration of the holiday!
Then we came down with D&V (my parents avoided) we just recovered for the flight home and then our flight was delayed and ultimately cancelled, they left us waiting at the airport until 3 am before telling us was cancelling and they would put us up for the night. Was 4am when we got to a hote and had to be up and ready for the coach for 10am for flight back home! Was a bloody nightmare from start to finish! 3 children (11,10 and 1) needless to say last year we ended up just going to Portugal to stay with dh family instead!
Will be braving a proper holiday this year but won’t be with Thomsons!
Did get flight compensation back for all of us for the delayed flights so silver linings and all lol

Road trip through Arizona. Got to Tucson, crazy Mexican smashed into us at the lights. Fun times. We stayed at a lovely hotel built into the hillside. There was a massive rainstorm after no rain for months. There were cars floating down the street. Our room flooded. We’d been caught in the rain as we’d gone out for supplies. We were stuck in the bar for ages shivering, with complimentary drinks.

Keep them coming peeps, this has cheered me up no end.

Before my sis was married her DH gave a present of a box of chocs with two train tickets to Brussels. It was some kind of special deal and by the time they claimed their offer the Brussels deal was off and all that was left was a ferry trip from Portsmouth to Bilbao.

Determined to get their money’s worth they decided on the weekend in Bilbao. Except the ferry ride was 24 hours, in November, down the Atlantic coast of France which was super rough. So they spent the whole ferry ride terribly seaskick periodically throwing up, spent a day recovering in Bilbao, and then had to endure another 24 hour ferry ride back.
