Aibu to ask you to remind me about that creepy couple on holiday

There was a thread about a family that was on holiday, I think in a caravan. They had to leave really early in the morning to escape these weird people in the next caravan that were creepy and kept wanting to join them on walks.
My dp was deciding to book a camping holiday and I suddenly remembered the thread. Desperately trying to search for it but I can’t find it. Please put me out of my misery and share the link. Or remind me more of the details. Even better if the lady is out there still please tell me you are safe and well and they didn’t find you in your home!

They left in the early hours and got relocated to a different site, that thread was amazing!

EYFSteacherreturns · 06/01/2018 20:59

That thread was amazing, very suprised no one has come up with a link. The search on mumsnet is no good!

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 06/01/2018 21:06

Oh I loved that thread!

I think they were in the Lake District. The couple kept staring and waving through their caravan windows at the op, then it sort of escalated to them coming and banging on the doors and windows in the middle of the night.

They the op got moved to another campsite through the same company and the manager came out with a bottle of wine, (that’s the point when a few people thought it might be a troll thread, but it never got deleted afaik).

Oh I remember it!! Would have made a good book!!

CherryMaDeara · 06/01/2018 21:12

Can't remember if it was an individual thread or part of a CF anthology thread. But i remember it.

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 06/01/2018 21:15

I’m sure it was in Aibu, not chat, though maybe it moved.

I think the op originally saw another thread about hangers on on holiday (where everyone said the op needed to be firm with the hangers on) and posted, saying “we have been firm, but they aren’t taking no for an answer” sort of thing.

EYFSteacherreturns · 06/01/2018 21:27

Yes!

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 06/01/2018 21:28

That’s it @5foot!

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 06/01/2018 21:28

I am simultaneously proud and embarrassed that I remembered so much about it BlushGrin.

AdoraBell · 06/01/2018 21:36

CherryMaDeara · 06/01/2018 21:44

Thedailymail

You remembered all that from a thread in June?! I'm impressed! Shock

minicheddars90 · 06/01/2018 21:45

Was definitely in AIBU as I don't follow any other topics,

Couldn't tell if it was for real or not, but it was brilliant!

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 06/01/2018 21:46

Thanks @cherry . Shame I can’t remember anything useful Grin!

Leeds2 · 06/01/2018 21:47

buttercup54321 · 06/01/2018 22:06

buttercup54321 · 06/01/2018 22:08

anyone had similar experiences with hangers on ?

52FestiveRoad · 06/01/2018 22:31

anyone had similar experiences with hangers on ? No, my DH just glares at everyone and puts out these 'fuck off' vibes. No one ever wants to hang around with us!

SparklyUnicornPoo · 06/01/2018 22:42

EW, EW. EEEWWWWWW! I missed that thread originally so have just read it, there's a link to a swingers camp in North Wales. My parents were camping in North Wales that weekend and have a pampas grass in their garden (which I hadn't known meant anything til MN told me) I can't remember exactly where they went so it could be coincidence but I can't ask them in case I'm right (suspecting being better than knowing). Thanks MN.

There was a holiday where the couple next door lived near us back home, and so we had a few drinks with them on the shared patio one night chatting about places we all knew. Unfortunately they were OBSESSED with talking about their jobs - she worked for a plumbers merchant and regaled us with stories about u-bends and drain blockages, he worked in an abattoir. We spent a lot of time trying to avoid them, with the lights off. Super.
