To ask what weird Christmas presents you got that you love?

My DM got me a waving Chinese cat, but it's solar panelled so when enough light hits it (either electric light or natural sunlight) the arm waves itself. I love it. I love cats anyway, but this is just sweet - so much thought went into it from my DM which makes a change as she usually just buys me any crap she can find it's got pride of place on my mantel piece next to my desk so I can see it all the time.

What about you? Did you get an odd present you love?

When I was little I bought my mum a zip lock folder for her work papers. She still has it :D

Op I have serious gift envy. I want a “Chinese waving cat” and wanted it as a gift. Hinted and hinted but it never happened. Might order it for myself this weekend 😉

My 10 year old bought me a bag of strawberry marshmallows as he knows I love Strawberries and marshmallows. I said we could share them and he said 'no, its your present'

A gravity blanket! So comforting and warm

My mum has been taking sewing classes for about two years, so this year everyone got handmade presents, I got an apron for when I’m doing the cooking, which unlike my one from the shop, it actually fits properly (short and fat, most are long and skinny) and a teeny triangle pouch that attaches to my keys for me to put change, or headphones or memory stick in etc.

Apart from the usual pressies, DH got me a large chocolate penguin, with a tiny chocolate penguin inside full of smarties. I love penguins (especially chocolate ones).

Not this year, but last year my mum and dad got me an item I coveted for the whole of my childhood - a cabbage patch doll.

This year I got a set of bath bombs - had never used them before and I love them! Especially the glittery unicorn ones...

Lush sea salt shampoo. I hate Lush usually as the shop stinks to high heaven. This was part of a gift set. It has transformed my hair. Normally my hair is very straight but it's now got a bit of weightless volume to it (doing a shite job of describing it). Definitely getting more.

I got a bed jacket. I don’t like wearing much in bed, so wouldn’t want pjs, but when I sit up in bed to read in my little silk nighties it’s cold. It’s a really pretty one, not old ladyish at all!

20 paper plates. That's 20 plates I haven't had to wash up. Brilliant present.

My DM got us all cups with our initial on I love them. She also got me a huge supply of bourbon cream biscuits with the strict instruction that they are for me - she does the same every year

I bought my DH a carnivorous garden, it’s a bit like the fairy gardens you can get but with Venus fly traps and a couple of others I can’t remember.

A Chinese waving cat is 100% going on every birthday and Christmas gift list until I get one...

Cranjis I got the same gift I think. Was it in a box wrapped with beautiful koi carp paper? I have to agree about the shampoo but the shower jelly is infuriating. It just squidges away from me. It's impossible to control. Smells gorgeous though.

DD bought me a 3ft bubblegum pink cuddly unicorn

I also got a label maker, so far I have labled all the glass in my craft room (I make fused glass for a hobby) and also all the dried food jars in the kitchen

My daughter bought me a selection of squishies which I adore. The cat paw is so soothing
