To ask what weird Christmas presents you got that you love?

My DM got me a waving Chinese cat, but it's solar panelled so when enough light hits it (either electric light or natural sunlight) the arm waves itself. I love it. I love cats anyway, but this is just sweet - so much thought went into it from my DM which makes a change as she usually just buys me any crap she can find it's got pride of place on my mantel piece next to my desk so I can see it all the time.

What about you? Did you get an odd present you love?

edwinbear · 05/01/2018 21:05

An electric, heated, neck and shoulder massager. Bliss.

mummyofthreemunchkins · 05/01/2018 21:07

My glass kettle that changes colour... I painted my kitchen and mentions to DH that our red kettle doesn't match anymore and I always really wanted a glass one. Not something I would justify getting for myself when we had a kettle that worked. Needless to say I was over the top excited 😃

Op - a waving cat was my dd's favourite present also!!! She loves them. Father Christmas was very clever indeed to know that.

Batmanwearspants · 05/01/2018 21:09

This penguin velcro hat with balls that you throw and points for where it lands.

Yeah weird af.

ComtesseDeSpair · 05/01/2018 21:10

Not me, but I got my mum a lifesize wall-mounted resin horse head with an articulated mouth like equestrian shops use to display bridles etc. It was just meant to be a silly little thing for her to hang on the garden wall and use the mouth to hold hanging baskets or something, but she loved it! She hung it in her dining room! It does look quite weird.

Slippers which you heat up in the microwave. Amazing.

I just had to google what a mattock is. Thought from the photo it might be some sort of ice pick or a garden tool. It’s a hand tool!

DragonNoodleCake · 05/01/2018 21:15

An air fryer!

A calendar of English countryside scenes. I was a bit Hmmwhen I received it and probably came across very ungrateful -sorry DM! but as I live abroad, it actually is a beautiful reminder of home.

The comfiest dressing gown , wish I could wear it all the time.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 05/01/2018 21:24

Measuring spoons from DS. He obviously overheard me chuntering in the kitchen about my old knackered, not even a full set any more, spoons and went to the trouble of getting me some.

Not bad for a teenager who seems to pay no attention to anything except his phone 😂.

Latenightreader · 05/01/2018 21:25

I had a (Wilko fake) Lego pirate ship, a Last Jedi calendar and a French knitting doll I have become a bit obsessed with and now have to think of things to make with the results...

A waffle maker!

Thesmallthings · 05/01/2018 21:29

A Mr frosty

It was the one present I asked for growing up and never got. My mum got me one at the grand age of 32 Grin

KittyB52 · 05/01/2018 21:31

Waving cats are awesome! Loads of fab presents on this thread.

I got a set of ‘family’ mugs - the parent mugs have sticky out ‘arms’, while the baby one in the middle has loops, so they all link together. It is much cuter than it sounds and as it is our first Christmas as parents, I love it. Smile

We were also given a very generous gift of a family pass to a local zoo, so we will be going to get our photo ID cards done soon. I am chortling at the thought of 9 month old DD having photo ID. Grin

I also got a tin of Twiglets which I am not sharing with anyone.
