I am ill. I needed Lucozade.

My beautiful, darling child trekked off to the local Tesco to get me some and...

...the fuckers have changed it. It tastes weird. Can't put my finger on it, but it's weird.

It's Winter. People are unwell. They NEED their Lucozade.

Why is everything changing? Can't we have ONE THING??

I came back to the UK in November and can confirm :( It's horrible.

It's supposed to be a glucose drink.

BertieBotts · 04/01/2018 17:08

I don't really give a shit what is healthier, TBH, sugar tastes nicer! Surely it's up to people to just eat/drink less of unhealthy stuff, not force everything to become healthy. Confused

Oblomov18 · 04/01/2018 17:15

As a diabetic, it has caused the diabetic world no end of problems. I've been drinking it, for low's/hypos, for over 40 years. Fuckers. Angry

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 04/01/2018 17:24

I spend a lot of time arguing with teenagers who claim that Lucozade is healthy. They’re not allowed Monster/Red Bull in school but don’t get challenged about Lucozade

Sciurus83 · 04/01/2018 17:27

NOOOOOOOOOO

ForalltheSaints · 04/01/2018 19:27

The Irn Bru 'crisis' may yet top the lot!

The title of this thread makes me laugh every time I see it

TheQueenOfWands · 04/01/2018 21:12

I'm still ill, BTW. Been hiding under a duvet watching comedy DVDs all day.

If I'd had the old Lucozade I'd be fully healed by now and be out somewhere breakdancing or something.

I hope they're proud of themselves.

If you are diabetic, please mention this when you see any of the diabetic team

We are still coming across diabetes specialists who aren't aware about this so just mention when we see someone (unless already spoken about it) It's a nuisance not being able to use lucozade anyore isn't it. More often than not they are puzzled and we have to explain, to which they are shocked and kind of worried saying they still tell people to use it as they didn't know.

The people with long term diabetes who aren't aware of this will be even more widespread, because they will just assume and use it as they always have done and are less likely to be seen in clinic to be warned.

Considering the link with use by diabetics, you would think that lucozade would have (had to) publicised it more to make sure diabetics were aware Angry

This happened MONTHS ago. There are petitions. It tastes like mildew now and I'm raging as its my favourite. Cunts.

LRSconsumercare · 09/01/2018 09:59

All Lucozade Energy flavours will still contain at least 20g of glucose based carbohydrates per 250ml. In a 380ml bottle, there will be approximately 30g of glucose based carbohydrates.

We advise you to always check the back of the bottle or can for details of the nutritional information, and if you have concerns, please speak to your healthcare professional.

Further information can be found at www.lrsuntory.com/health.

pluginbaby00 · 09/01/2018 10:13

Hmm LRS?

Doesn't change the fact it tastes horrific, despite the repetitive platitudes you have doled out to all voices of dissent online about the "great new taste". Envy

I poured the undrinkable bottles of new recipe down my sink last spring, grabbed the last few old ones from the shops and have not and will never buy another. Great work.

Batfurger · 09/01/2018 10:30

I can’t believe the amount of sugar people think is acceptable. 8.9g is still the equivalent of 2tsp. 7tsp worth in a can of coke. No way would you add that to a drink or food if you were required to sweeten it yourself.

I’m sure lucozade was very convenient for diabetics, there are other ways of getting glucose though.

Tink2007 · 09/01/2018 10:33

I found this out this week whilst in the throws of a D&V Bug. It was the only thing that would help me feel remotely human. Not anymore.

halcyondays · 09/01/2018 10:39

I made the mistake of buying the new Lucozade once, horrible stuff. Never buying it again unless they go back to making the proper stuff.
