I am ill. I needed Lucozade.

My beautiful, darling child trekked off to the local Tesco to get me some and...

...the fuckers have changed it. It tastes weird. Can't put my finger on it, but it's weird.

It's Winter. People are unwell. They NEED their Lucozade.

Why is everything changing? Can't we have ONE THING??

It's be changed for a while, FIL is diabetic and has had to find something else to use when he's low.

All fizzy drinks are having to massively reduce the sugar in them - or massively reduce the size. It is indeed due to the sugar tax. They have to replace that sugar with artificial sweetener or their drinks taste revolting. The same is happening to chocolate bars - that's why they keep shrinking...

There was outrage a while ago on mn, around the same time as Cadburys messed around with the creme egg contents.

I don't take sugar in tea or coffee, but intend to collect all those little paper sachets of sweet, sweet crystallised gold and sell it on the black market.

I hate how you can't buy anything without some sort of sweetener in it. My health visitor told me my lo isn't allowed anything with sweeteners until at least 3 .

I've always hated the taste of Lucozade. I remember my dad buying it for me as a child when I felt really unwell. I liked it when they brought out the lemon version. Haven't had it in yonks, but I have noticed lots of food and drink tasting really odd lately. I won't touch anything with aspartame in anyway, I've noticed a lot of drinks aimed at children contains the stuff.

Nooooo. I've had a few odd bottles of it in recent months, in particular ones bought from Boots - I wonder if they were from new batches? I thought it was just an oddity though or perhaps my tastebuds. This must be why.

This is terrible news. I've loved it since I was a child - I remember the glass bottles with the little bumps on too. I don't want bloody chemical ridden aspartame. I'll happily pay the sugar tax. Give me my syrupy comfort!!

I had a migraine a few months ago and when I was feeling shaky afterwards I had some. It was revolting. I'll never buy it again.

Just a hint for type 1 diabetics, I have orange juice and it does the same job.

Lucozade is gross stuff. Why do people drink it and what has it got to do with illness? It's just sugar water surely? (now with lots of sweeteners)

I would also pay extra for proper original lucozade to cover their tax.
When I had weeks of awful morning sickness and couldnt keep anything else down, lucozade kept me out of hospital!!

If it helps, the sports lucozade (the flat ones) and a caffeine tablet helps to perk you up after being ill. That's what I did after I had flu at Christmas, with some dry toast.

Raise the price on the sugar ones, let people have a choice. I’d rather pay more for sugar than artificial rubbish.

Well, I was pretty sure I was done with having babies- but this has made up my mind for me.

Orange Lucozade was about the only thing that got me through morning sickness. Even looking at s bottle now makes me want to have a quick chunder in a bush for old time's sake.

I would gladly pay the sugar tax if they brought back the old version.
And while they are at it - I'd pay even more for it in a glass bottle. It used to taste nicer out of glass. Better for the environment too.

And the folk that prefer is there anyone? the plastic bottle/chemical aspartame version can buy that one.
