What woe is me ones come up on your Facebook?

And yes I do need it for my business, yes I do unfollow the offenders, yes this is lighthearted etc etc

Or blathers even....

squoosh · 03/01/2018 19:44

These 'inspirational' memes are always created by people who have a total disregard for apostrophes. Less cheese, more punctuation please.

ShotsFired · 03/01/2018 19:45

There was one bollocks one doing the rounds on FB this week, along the lines of

"If we argued, its cool [sunglasses icon], if I made you cross, i'm sorry [flowers icon], if you did this, then y, if you think a, then b, blah blah blah"

All achingly cool and virtue signalling about how right-on the poster was. I like to send stuff like that to www.facebook.com/donotpaste/

That was bad enough, but today I saw it on sodding LinkedIn!

Scrowy · 03/01/2018 19:45

Those ones that have lists of names in them e.g 'These girls will.... in 2018' ones are purely designed to harvest huge numbers of Facebook accounts for spamming/targeting. Through tagging people in them the people who engage with them basically add their and their friends names to a nice long list.

cathyclown · 03/01/2018 19:46

I know I am going to sound smug.

But I only use Whatsapp now. It is so refreshing and good for the soul.

theymademejoin · 03/01/2018 19:46

She's obviously not the girl to go to if you need help with proof reading!

Notreallyarsed · 03/01/2018 19:46

@ShotsFired I was sent that by a former friend today. Bleurgh. Thankfully it reminded me to block her!

ArcheryAnnie · 03/01/2018 19:47

I hate that meme the OP put at the top - it's celebrating the idea that the perfect woman is one who serves everybody else, but never asks for anything herself. Fuck that!

Pickleypickles · 03/01/2018 19:48

It is one of the reasons i stopped using facebook, i thought i was just being miserable though, glad im not ☺ thanks guys.

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 03/01/2018 19:49

@notreallyarsed

My sister sent me that as a joke!

Magicnumbers · 03/01/2018 19:50

Completely with you, OP. Like my friend who is lovely but has no sense of how lucky she has been in life- never without a car or holidays, for example- but who keeps posting stuff like this. It’s an exhausting combination of self-promotion and self-pity!

She also posts loads of things about anxiety, and I truly believe that in doing so, she has actually made her anxiety worse.

I have stopped following her, as it was a matter of time before I posted something inappropriate in response.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 03/01/2018 19:52

I hate all of this meaningless shite.

That said, Facebook, like some kind of satanic shovel, has unearthed thousands of similar self-congratulatory, twee, humblebragging bits of crap.

In dark moments, it feels like anything genuinely meaningful can't get a look in anymore, while Facebook and Instagram spews and circulates endless crap like this to millions.

Notreallyarsed · 03/01/2018 19:53

@TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag your sister sounds like she has my sense of humour Grin I was cringing reading it when FF sent it, because she’s an arsehole and STILL tried to get round me with a twee flipping meme knowing I hate them.

x2boys · 03/01/2018 19:53

Well don't look at then this is is going to be another thread about people saying smug things about how they are so much happier without facebook etc unfollow.or delete if people annoy you but facebook has some amazing groups its how you use it.

Idontevencareanymore · 03/01/2018 19:53

Oh so passive aggressive.

I'll be there for you but wouldn't bother you with my troubles...... sod that. What's the point in friends if you don't turn to them when you need them. Doesn't make you a fucking hero.

Another reason why I dislike fakebook right now.

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 03/01/2018 19:54

@notreallyarsed

Grin She’s very dry and very, very funny!

Notreallyarsed · 03/01/2018 19:56

Dry is entirely my style 😁

I like Facebook because I have groups on it, and also friends/family who live far away. I also don’t have any time for bullshit in RL or on FB so it’s entirely down to how you use social media.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 03/01/2018 19:57

Anyone who posts this clearly is a major twat !!!! It’s so passive aggressive it makes me puke

TreeTopTen · 03/01/2018 20:00

They do my nut in but I don't dare unfollow as, just like your cousin , they tend to be the ones who have very public meltdowns and fights, I love a good humiliating FB post.

itshappening · 03/01/2018 20:00

I don't get the one you posted OP.

Also find it hard to believe that those who soldier on facing issues alone and uncomplaining overlap much with those who post on social media about how they face issues alone, but still....

DrDiva · 03/01/2018 20:08

notreallyarsed so “if you wronged me” and “if you feel I wronged you” - beautifully passive-aggressive little sidestep there, is it not?! Grin

fairgame84 · 03/01/2018 20:09

I do love a good meme but I much prefer ones like this. I'm just not a very twee person though.

To ask people to stop posting
Notreallyarsed · 03/01/2018 20:10

@DrDiva that’s what really irritated me about it! She’s a former friend because she stole from my house repeatedly, stole from my purse (after I’d given her £40!) and I only discovered it was her when I caught her at it. I then cut her off completely, and this is her attempt at reconciliation. Pffft. I’d rather have my money back!

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 03/01/2018 20:10

This is exactly the reason I barely use Fakebook. It's all so much attention seeking & self-promotion
Only if you follow people who are self-promoting attention seekers though Lego. I get none of that on my feed because either I don't friend them in the first place, or I unfollow or unfriend them. FB is just a tool, it is what you make it. I hate that shite too so I make sure I don't receive it.

FuzzyCustard · 03/01/2018 20:11

Oh yuk yuk yuk. I can't see it and I hate it.
I also hate the FB posters who go for some sort of sympathy or parenting validation...."Oooh my poor baby girl (usually aged about 8 so not a baby) has been sick today and we are cuddled up on the sofa reading worthy stories". Like every child isn't sick at one time or another and you still have time to post on FB .
