My friend came to visit me earlier which is unusual as I normally only see her when I am in her area (I moved an hour away so it's where I grew up so I see her when visiting family) anyway when she got to mine she said the reason for her visit was to dump her neighbours cat in my area! Apparently it has been continuously pissing and shitting on her bed and fighting her other cats that she got fed up (after speaking with the neighbour many times who apparently didn't do anything) she decided to take it as far as she could travel and dump it, which happened to be my area. She said she caught it in her cat carrier and let it out once she got to the station! Aibu in being disgusted by this?!

And what about when it's hot? I know warm weather is a dim and distant memory right now, but IIRC we do still get a few days mid-summer in which most people like to open a window or patio door or two.

You can't honestly be suggesting that the onus is on her to keep all of her doors and windows closed all year round, rather than the neighbours sort their nightmare cat out.

GreenTulips · 03/01/2018 12:26

She could get a catflap

They don't work!

MiddleClassProblem · 03/01/2018 12:27

No but lost people don’t leave windows open when their out with or without pets due to security reasons. They use shaded spaces outside, tiled areas in the hose, cooling blankets etc.

And obviously if you did you would keep certain rooms shut off so the cat wouldn’t get on her bed etc.

If you’re home, you are there to get the cat out.

Do you think what she did was reasonable? I’m assuming not but I don’t have the energy to go back and reread your posts.

SaucyJack · 03/01/2018 12:39

No, I don't think it was a decent thing to do- but IMO the responsibility is the fault of the owners' for allowing the situation to continue. They had options. They couldn't be arsed to take them, as just assumed she'd be enough of a doormat to put up with it. Sadly for the cat, they lost that gamble.

She shouldn't be expected to turn her own home into Fort Knox or put up with cat shit on the bed.

I can understand her frustration but surely she could have found a better way to deal with the nuisance caused.

fastfrank · 03/01/2018 13:53

I wish I knew where you were in the country so I could report the heartless bitch myself. She's abducted and abandoned someone's pet. Horrible cow.

FluffyWuffy100 · 03/01/2018 13:55

Stupid cruel nasty fucking cow bag. I wouldn't be upset if something nasty happens to her.

She leaves her windows open for her cats to go in and out obviously the other cat has made it's way in.

Get a microchip cat flap. Issue solves.

Stupid bint.

ThisLittleKitty · 03/01/2018 18:20

Sorry been ill so only just coming back (no this definitely isn't a "reverse" I would never in a million years do anything this cruel) well I've thought about it more today and I really disgusted with her and I'm definitely cutting off this friend as I don't even want to be friends with someone who would be so nasty, the station is about 15 minutes walk from my house and I have the flu so won't really be able to look and doubt I would find it anywy as it's been over 24 hours. I don't know who the neighbour is unfortunately.

OP you need to contact the rspca or someone to let them know this has happened. If you are not able to go and tell the neighbour then you must at least phone and let someone know. There will be a family frantic because their kitty has gone missing. Cutting your friend off isn't enough. Please let somebody know.

Tinkerbec · 03/01/2018 18:25

Go to her house and find out flu or not!
Do something! Stop with the excuses.

I could not live with myself

If this is real it is absolutely disgusting. Vile humans.

No wonder the world is full of entitled arrogant idiots.

GreenTulips · 03/01/2018 18:37

Whats discustingbos that the neighbour won't engage to sort out the issue

I would assume they've not offered to pay for the damage their pet has caused and continues to cause.

If a dog craps and you don't picknit up - it's £1000 fine, why shouldn't the friend beable to 'fine' her neighbours? She knows it's their cat, she knows they aren't interested. Throw in a fine, or small courts or procescituon these owners would soon pay up and deal with the issue.

This woman would be at the end of her tether with this cat.

The only proble here is legally the cat owners get away with responsibility of being an owner

ThisLittleKitty · 03/01/2018 18:38

I've been asleep all day with a pounding headache and a baby with the flu also like I said she lives an hour away from me and I don't drive. I'm not dragging 4 kids out. I will try the RSPCA thanks.

What a bitch!

HildaZelda · 03/01/2018 18:45

What an absolute and utter fucking bitch! I seriously hope she's no longer your friend. I'm not a great believer in karma but if it does exist then I really hope it comes along and gives her a good hard kick up the arse.
The poor cat must be terrified, that is if it hasn't already been run over or something equally horrific. My blood is boiling just thinking about this.
I have a cat and my neighbour hates her (no reason, cat has never done anything to her, she just hates cats) and if I ever found out that she'd done something like this to mine, I swear she'd be very sorry when I'd finished with her.

intothenewyearwego · 03/01/2018 19:00

Why didn’t she just drop him off at a pet shelter near to you instead seeing as that’s where he will (hopefully) end up anyway. She wouldn’t have to leave her details just say she found him somewhere obscure.
The neighbour is the worst kind of cat owner but what your friend did is unforgivable!
There’s nothing you can really do now especially as you are so poorly.
I really feel for that cat because he now must be scared, freezing and hungry. Hoping you are not in the cat killers target areas either, he’s been pretty busy over Christmas unfortunately.

MoonfaceAndSilky · 03/01/2018 19:34

Would the rspca do anything? Can you contact the owner and tell her which town her poor cat is in. Even an anonymous letter put in the post would be better than nothing. I assume you know the address as she lives next door to your bitch of a friend.
Poor poor cat, can you imagine how scared it is, let alone cold & hungry Sad

OP that poor cat is out in this terrible weather, please facebook the cat rescues in your area and they will have people who will go looking for it.

Tinkerbec · 04/01/2018 10:22

Hope someone found this cat.

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 04/01/2018 10:48

It's probably run over and dead now it's busy near stations, I hope you have contacted the neighbour and I hope this friend isn't a friend any more.

steppemum · 04/01/2018 10:58

Those micro car flats don't work, if a cat comes home at speed the flat swings and the other cat can get in - but not out and now your cat is trapped with bully cat

this is not our experience.
Our cat flap allows any cat out, but only your cat in.
When ethe flap closes behind my cat it smacks a following cat in the face and locks!

Adn with reagrd to warm weather and open windows.
If the cat is not able to get in for most of the year, it is much less likely to come in during the summer, as it doesn't consider your house his territory.
Cat owner should neuter, and pay part of cost of cat flap.
You 'friend' should stop leaving her window open and get a decent cat flap.

We had a neighbours cat always in our house and spraying, the microship catflap was wonderful

MoonfaceAndSilky · 04/01/2018 13:00

It's probably run over and dead now
Shock I hope not.
Op did you try the rspca?
