Face planked... GP?

Really feeling very stupid. I was standing up a grass verge last night (sober) and didn't realise that one side was a vertical drop - the side we'd walked up was sloped. I stood off it face planked onto concrete.

Felt fine but now feel like I have the worst case of sinusitis ever. Have got a dentist appointment for tomorrow to get teeth cheeked out (they went into my lips). Basically, theres a small scrape on my nose and no bruising, but the pain is horrific.

Is it knobful to make a GP appointment as well?

(Also, if anyone has suggestions that will alleviate the pain please hit me with them).

Hope you're alright! Very glad you're being checked over.

Mia184 · 01/01/2018 18:30

I hope it's not serious.

Yeah a friend of mine didn't go straight away turns out he had been walking around with one major and two minor fractures of the neck.
It will be painful for a few days/ week. I did mine twice and last time it was x-rayed. Considered fractured cheek bone luckily not just nose and arms.

Take some arnica tomorrow. I recommend some sweets, a magazine and a film for tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon.

TooManyPaws · 02/01/2018 04:46

Ouch! Hope you're feeling better soon.

I've broken my nose twice and had to have an operation to fix a deviated septum because of it. At no time have I had black eyes from either the injuries or operation; it's a bit of a myth that you automatically have them and I'm someone who bruises at anything. And, yes, I've had x-rays.

Seconding arnica and suggesting alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol every two hours, ie four hours between doses of the same drug.

What was the verdict at the hospital?

Ellendegeneres · 03/01/2018 09:17

What did they say?

frieda909 · 03/01/2018 09:33

Oh gosh, they’ve kept you there for two nights?! What happened?

ButDoYouAvocado · 03/01/2018 09:59

Wow, what was the verdict?

Zube · 03/01/2018 10:01

A couple of fractures and some very low blood pressure. All fine and should heal soon!

That would explain the pain then! Take it easy Flowers
