To be raging with asda because the haven't delivered my shopping for NY day dinner

mayaknew · 31/12/2017 19:59

Have all the family over tomorrow for new years day dinner.

Asda were supposed to deliver my shopping between 5pm-7pm. It still hasn't arrived.

I tried to call their customer service line but it is closed.

I have 10 people coming tomorrow for new years steak pie.

Shit!

Well there is only 15 mins of hope left for the delivery to possibly arrive as the last delivery slot is 9-11pm...

mayaknew · 31/12/2017 22:47

App STILL says out for delivery. Surely no delivery driver is working at 11pm on hogmanay 😖

Kpo58 · 31/12/2017 22:54

I have had things turn up at 5 to 11pm from Asda before (I only go for the cheap slots).

I use Asda rarely - they stock some things I can't get elsewhere and often have good offers on nappies so easy to get to minimum order!

I stopped using them after 2 disasters of non delivery - was shocked call centre didn't cover all delivery slots. Was offered a redelivery after 10 days!

Recently I got refunds on all my tinned goods as all were dented, and they hadn't sent the nappies at all so the driver took some out of someone elses order to give me! I refused as we had some and it wasn't urgent someone else it might have been!

Fingers crossed for you.

khajiit13 · 31/12/2017 23:36

I've been in your shoes OP. What pissed me off the most was the fact they didn't fucking get in touch!! I had to chase them ( I had a 6-8pm slot) and even then they didn't have a fucking clue. They told me to phone back in the morning. The next day they informed me the van had broke downHmm can't get my head around why they couldn't phone everyone expecting a delivery and tell them. I still use asda all the time because I find them cheaper despite this but I guess you get what you pay for

safariboot · 31/12/2017 23:43

I know it's NYE, but for Asda to close their customer service line before the deliveries are finished seems pretty shit to me.

In Birmingham we've never had any major delivery problems with Tesco. If the delivery will be late 95% of the time we get a text with the adjusted time. Missed trays once or twice (in a couple of hundred orders done) and we got the money back no hassle. But Tesco recently changed their website and now the online shopping process is total garbage so I'll be looking for a new place to do my shopping. Not Asda, that's for sure.

ilovepixie · 31/12/2017 23:49

Most shops will be open tomorrow.

Whenisitbedtime · 31/12/2017 23:50

Asda did this to me once. I have never and will never use them again.

SunshineTheMonkey · 31/12/2017 23:59

The fuckers.

melj1213 · 01/01/2018 00:09

I work for Asda, in store Customer Services and this would not be acceptable from our store. Occasionally we miss time slots but the least we expect our delivery team to do is let customers know if there is going to be a significant delay.

OP, if it doesn't turn up, don't call the call centre they're less than useless but find the number for your local store and phone them first thing.

The delivery will be coming from your local store so rather than calling the call centre, who will just call the store then get back to you, just call your local store directly - you will most likely end up through to the Customer Service desk so when they answer, just ask for the Home Shopping department. They should then put you through to them and they will be able to see what happened with your delivery as they can go into the system there and then (Customer Services don't usually have the access to this system at the desk, so rather than explaining the issue to them and then having to explain again to Home Shopping, just ask to be put straight through)

Then they will either refund you (if you decide to go elsewhere/they can't deliver in time) or offer to re-deliver first thing as a minimum and if you explain how inconvenienced you have been, they should also provide something by way of goodwill to try and offset that.

ASDA substituted my unavailable gluten-free items with normal, glutened products Grin

never used them again after that..

mayaknew · 01/01/2018 00:30

Happy New year everyone !!!

Well my delivery did not come. I will be at Tesco tomorrow at 11am waiting on the doors to open 😂😂😂😂

Thanks Mel that is very helpful.

Asda Dumbarton is open tomorrow but steak pie availability will be dubious. I get the pie thing and it cannot be substituted lol. I picked mine up from the butcher on Saturday as I prefer the butcher version to the boxed pies. I did say to DP ‘should we leave it this year as i’m Never really hungry on New Year’s Day?’ He looked at me like i’s just shat on his toothbrush.

chipsandpeas · 01/01/2018 00:33

if you cant get a premade steak pie, just buy all the bits and make your own

mayaknew · 01/01/2018 00:39

😂😂😂😂😂 Fluffy

I remember in my younger days hungover forcing myself to eat steak pie. 😂😂

I also remember when I was really wee my mum making steak pie at the bells. We would sit down and have it at midnight.

I also remember my dad opening the front and back doors "to let the old year out and the new year in"🤔😂😂

Wee local corner shops might sell steak pies. But small ones. You could buy an individual one for everyone. That is exactly the sort of thing my local one would sell.

fandangley · 01/01/2018 01:31

I was in Morrisons today and they are also open tomorrow if that helps you at all. Mine had plenty of steak pies left including the large ones at about 4pm

MuddlingMackem · 01/01/2018 01:41

A few years ago we were at PILs on New Year's Eve and they were waiting for the delivery that they'd been sent an email to say would be delivered. This included the food for tea for all six of us. MIL had forgotten that the card she'd used for the delivery was one she'd had to cancel earlier that week, but once DH and she had worked this out we couldn't understand how she got an email saying her payment had been taken with a confirmation of delivery and not one saying that there was a problem with the payment method.

Luckily DH was able to pop to the nearest supermarket for something before it closed, as it wasn't a Sunday, but it was a total pain.

apostropheuse · 01/01/2018 10:04

Wishing you luck in your steak pie hunt this morning OP.

Let us know how you get on!

I'm currently recovering from my gluttony last night. Sultana bun, shortbread, Tunnocks teacake and Tunnocks caramel log to boot! Did I mention crisps? 😂

Fluffyears · 01/01/2018 11:28

I opened the front and back doors last night lol. Old traditions Grin

BuffysFavouriteStake · 01/01/2018 11:39

Used to use asda for home delivery.

I ordered immodium. They subbed with sennacot.....

Never used them again!!!

Good luck with the steak pie hunt OP!!
