To be raging with asda because the haven't delivered my shopping for NY day dinner

mayaknew · 31/12/2017 19:59

Have all the family over tomorrow for new years day dinner.

Asda were supposed to deliver my shopping between 5pm-7pm. It still hasn't arrived.

I tried to call their customer service line but it is closed.

I have 10 people coming tomorrow for new years steak pie.

Shit!

I use tesco and never had a problem . Can’t believe customer service is closed and that you never even got a call that is bad .

Stolenchoccies · 31/12/2017 20:56

I was going to suggest Chinese take away but I am Scottish too so get the steak pie thing.

ShotsFired · 31/12/2017 20:57

Time for a new tradition then!

mayaknew · 31/12/2017 21:00

Aye wait there til I rewrite Scottish history shots 😂😂😂😂

Zero, i would, and have arranged for delivery at a time most suitable for me. Thats the whole point of it. Getting ingredients in too early for a party is problematic as my refrigerator wont magically grow to hold the usual plus extra. I dont even have a car, delivery is the only reasonable way i can get groceries, especially extra groceries for a party.

In 4 years ive never had a delivery fail, the one time they were late, they called and gave me a voucher.

That's Waitrose though.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 31/12/2017 21:01

@ZeroFuchsGiven OP didn't exactly order it with an hours notice. What does your post even mean?!

PeapodBurgundy · 31/12/2017 21:09

Zero She was organised. If her post said she was raging with Asda because she went to do her shop at 10am tomorrow morning for a lunch to be served at 1 I'd be with you. She'd planned her menu, done her shopping list, and paid for her items to be delivered in pleanty of time to have the meal cooked. That's a perfectly reasonable level of organisation Hmm

OP sorry, but you're likely going to have to do a supermarket dash in the morning. Surely DC can get away with going in PJs this once?

apostropheuse · 31/12/2017 21:13

Oh no, OP. I hope they still have steak pies left tomorrow!

You might end up eating rolls and square sliced and tattie scones!

glitterfarts · 31/12/2017 21:14

Go when they open and let the kids stay in their PJ's as promised.
The rest of the world will be sleeping in/hungover and so not at the supermarket. :D

ItsNachoCheese · 31/12/2017 21:20

mayaknew where are you? My local tesco is open 11-6 and asda is 12-6 and im just outside stirling

mayaknew · 31/12/2017 21:25

Somewhere on the Clyde is about as specific as I will be nacho 😂😂😂 I will go to Tesco in the morning and let them keep their pjs on

OP posts:
mayaknew · 31/12/2017 21:25

Although I am still raging with Asda and they will be getting a strongly worded email. Not that they'll give a shit 😒

Rainbowmother · 31/12/2017 21:28

I've had them turn up at 11pm for a 5-7pm delivery.

I've had them turn up with 10% of my food as they "turned a corner and hadn't locked the door of the van."

I've also phoned up to see where my delivery is and told to wait another 15 minutes and call back.... called back and they had shut the call centre.

When I complained the next day that the girl had purposefully lied , they said maybe she got confused with the time difference in South AfricaHmm I said she didn't need to work anything out to know she was going home and the call centre shuts at the time she told me to call back Grin

Idontevencareanymore · 31/12/2017 21:30

Lolling @ op being blamed for asdas incompetence. I mean they offered a service and literally haven't delivered it! Obviously blameless......

Hope you get your shopping op. Asda are a bunch of mouldy balls who give no hoots about their customers and dont seem to grasp service is key.

KarmaStar · 31/12/2017 21:30

Awful service OP,still rest assured that now they have lots lots of potential mumsnet customers!!😊
Hope you have a great dinner tomorrow
Happy New YearFlowers

KarmaStar · 31/12/2017 21:31

Lost lots of!

ItsNachoCheese · 31/12/2017 21:31

Ahh thats quite a variety of places to be Xmas Grin i hope you get your steak pie as like you say it has to be done on new years day here 😂. I wont get mine til my mum and dad come back im 💔haha

Has it arrived?

mayaknew · 31/12/2017 21:41

I kind of feel sorry for the delivery driver. He should be home having a wee dram for the bells.

Nacho are your mum and dad away somewhere? If this delivery appears tonight it will be hilarious.

OP posts:
mayaknew · 31/12/2017 21:43

Although I do have a question... if it doesn't appear tonight ... where is it ? Lying on the van all night ? Or was it never even on the van to begin with ?

OP posts:
ItsNachoCheese · 31/12/2017 21:59

maya yeah they are away abroad for new year and arent back til the end of next week. Im going to be dreaming of her steak til then lol

dingdongdigeridoo · 31/12/2017 22:19

Whenever there’s a thread about someone being let down for an online delivery there’s always someone popping up with ‘well, what would you have done before internet shopping? The shops are open tomorrow you know’ blah blah. As if the poor shops are blameless for their shit service.

Oh and they have to use the most patronising Hmm emoji. As if they’re the last sensible person on earth.

Confuzzlediddled · 31/12/2017 22:25

I once had asda fail to deliver (also on a Sunday) because apparently the driver knocked, looked through the window and saw me asleep on the couch - which was clever as I had an L shaped room and only the dining table was visible from the window...
