To have only just realised I could be pregnant

Posting for traffic. Name says it all.

DP and I have only DTD once since DS was born, about 2 months ago due to combination of him working away and cosleeping making it difficult. We didnt use protection as I'm EBF and it was kind of a 'fuck it' moment.

Last two days have had awful gas, bloating and weird metallic taste in my mouth. Was burping endlessly in the car and DP said 'haha wow the only time I've seen you this bad is when you were pregnant'. It was just a passing comment but thinking about it I do feel exactly as I did a year ago when in first trimester.

Oh God I'm pregnant aren't I?! I need to take a test but it's 1am and I'm panicking. 5mo is asleep next to me.

Don't even know what I'd do. I'd love another baby but how the hell would we cope with a just 1 year old and a newborn? Oh lordy.

Waiting...

Hastalapasta · 30/12/2017 16:13

Really hope that you get the result that you want.

NameChangeSoSisCantFindMeAhhhh · 30/12/2017 16:24

So sorry meant to come back earlier.

I can't really do a test as we are staying rurally (over an hour to nearest shop) for new year with lots of family. Coming home on the 1st so going to have to wait until then to test. Sorry about the suspense! Sad

Do you have access to frogs? Xmas Grin

Failing that, wheat or barley seeds.

TheSassyAssassin · 30/12/2017 16:27

Ok well only a couple of days and then you'll know OP. Really hoping the result starts 2018 off for you in the best way possible. Good luck! Flowers

FoggieFishieCarpeDiem · 30/12/2017 16:29

That’s obviously perfectly fine. Your suspense must be higher (more intense? Stronger? Ehm.... I’m actually not sure what one would use English) than ours.

I hope you get the outcome you want and still enjoy your new year’s celebration despite all this... I personally would probably get stir crazy, tbh.

Good luck Flowers

Sometimes the changing hormones with BFing can mimic pregnancy symptoms.

It could be that your period is about to return. Before mine came back on both my BFing journies I was convinced I was pregnant!

That said, I got pregnant with DTs when DS1 was 10 months old.

Best of luck OP Flowers

Lweji · 30/12/2017 16:32

Ah, if the OP is possibly pregnant she probably won't feel comfortable drinking NYE.

I'd take the car and get to a pharmacy to be sure.

NameChangeSoSisCantFindMeAhhhh · 30/12/2017 16:33

Going to try and find an excuse to 'pop out' tomorrow...

Good luck!

Wolfiefan · 30/12/2017 16:38

Good luck OP. Hope you get the result you want.

howthelightgetsin · 30/12/2017 17:24

I had no end of pregnancy symptoms in the year post birth. Pretty sure almost everyone in my antenatal class at one point thought they were pregnant and tested. Don’t feel so pregnant now at 1.5 years pp but now I’d quite like to be so still test every now and then due to random optimism!

winterwonderlandy · 30/12/2017 21:58

Good luck! You'll cope fine if you are pregnant. I gave birth a couple of months ago to baby number 2, 13 months after the arrival of baby number 1. It was a shock when I found out at first and the pregnancy was definitely harder than first time round. But now we're past the first few rough weeks, we're getting into the swing of things.

We're 90% decided that we're stopping at 2, and as long as we don't change our minds then I like the fact we're getting past the newborn stage now, and won't be going back to sleepless nights and nappies in a few years time. We can move on and focus on the next stage for both of them if that makes sense.

Buxtonstill · 30/12/2017 22:03

Good luck! Hope you get the result you hope for.

holycityzoo · 30/12/2017 22:09

Same thing happened to me 13 months between my youngest 2. They are so close it's lovely, hard work for the first year but much easier now (3 and 4)
Good luck Flowers

Rachie1986 · 30/12/2017 22:16

Shamelessly placemarking..

jocktamsonsbairn · 30/12/2017 22:19

My dc are 14 months apart - one was ivf and the other was the result of an 'oh Fuck it' moment! Was hard in the early days but much easier since! Good luck and hope it's what you want.

AdoraBell · 30/12/2017 22:28

Fingers crossed you get the result you want.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 30/12/2017 22:28

Flowers i hope you can get a test without too much awkwardness Flowers

What does your DH think?

Whirlytastic · 30/12/2017 22:30

Agree with iBiscuit, it's not necessarily marvellous news - wouldn't be for everyone. I can tell you categorically that I would not have coped with two babies in rapid succession like that - it would have been shit for us. But I guess if you're having 'fuck it' moments, it's probably not a disaster - so all the best Smile

peachypips · 30/12/2017 22:32

Looking forward to an update in the morning!

Buddyelf · 30/12/2017 22:33
