To have only just realised I could be pregnant

Posting for traffic. Name says it all.

DP and I have only DTD once since DS was born, about 2 months ago due to combination of him working away and cosleeping making it difficult. We didnt use protection as I'm EBF and it was kind of a 'fuck it' moment.

Last two days have had awful gas, bloating and weird metallic taste in my mouth. Was burping endlessly in the car and DP said 'haha wow the only time I've seen you this bad is when you were pregnant'. It was just a passing comment but thinking about it I do feel exactly as I did a year ago when in first trimester.

Oh God I'm pregnant aren't I?! I need to take a test but it's 1am and I'm panicking. 5mo is asleep next to me.

Don't even know what I'd do. I'd love another baby but how the hell would we cope with a just 1 year old and a newborn? Oh lordy.

Good luck OP. Either way I’m sure you’ll have support x

gingerbreadmam · 30/12/2017 09:29

Me and my siblings are all pretty close in age. My DM had had 5 between 18 and 26. She coped fine and is a great mam, you would too.

Also want the update haha!

Spellcheck · 30/12/2017 09:34

Obviously NOT placemarking...
15 months between my first two, 13 months between my last two. I didn't find it that hard actually, as you're so caught up in the moment. One of the hardest things was finding a suitable double pushchair. Youngest are 3 and 4 now, and it's really lovely. If you are pregnant, don't let worry spoil it for you!

FoggieFishieCarpeDiem · 30/12/2017 09:37

We have DDs that are rathee close in age.. There are some disadvantages but it’s doable. You’ll be ok :)

swingofthings · 30/12/2017 09:41

oh that mettalic taste in the mouth, the one sign that certainly didn't lie for me!!

passemoilevin · 30/12/2017 09:47

😁😁😁 good luck OP hope it's the outcome you'd like Thanks

notsohippychick · 30/12/2017 09:51

Good luck!!!!! As other posters have said, if you are, it will all be ok. Xxxxxx

happiestcamper · 30/12/2017 09:52

I had two babies in a year. Hard work at first but totally worth it and don't regret it for a second. They are now 8 and 7 and as a PP said they also always get mistaken for twins

DeadButDelicious · 30/12/2017 09:52

Shameless placemarking. Smile

LexieLulu · 30/12/2017 09:53

Wow! It will be a shock but the age gap would be amazing x

Christmascheerful · 30/12/2017 09:54

I'm excited for you! Flowers

gettingannoyedwiththisnow · 30/12/2017 09:54

I fell pregnant when DS was nearly 8 months old! I had been on the pill but bleeding constantly so came off. Not breastfeeding though.

Day after I came off the pill - I fell pregnant because we risked it.

Cue DD exactly 17 months later! (She was late)

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 30/12/2017 10:02

I hope you get the outcome you want OP. I can’t say from experience as I only have one nearly 4yo DD but I know people who have had DC close together and they are doing fantastically. You’ll be great OP, either way.

Chattycat78 · 30/12/2017 10:03

16.5 age gap here. it was deliberate because I thought it would take years or wouldn’t even be possible because the first baby was ivfShock so we tried as soon as my period came Back after 8 months and I got a bfp 2 weeks later!

I won’t lie, the first year was very very tough. Seeing the benefits now though as they start to play together and take more interest in one another with the age gap being so small. I guess it gets all the baby stage over in one go too!

Good luck with the test!

Elendon · 30/12/2017 10:07

There were sisters in my class at school, not twins, 10 months separated them.

It's doable. Hope you get the outcome you are wanting.

OnTheRise · 30/12/2017 10:33

I once knew someone who had a baby boy; ten months later, she had boy twins; and eleven months after that, another single baby boy. So she had four babies under two.

And her husband never changed a single nappy.

I don't know how she coped but she did, and her sons were all absolutely lovely. Well behaved, kind and funny.

Good luck, OP!

AmUsername · 30/12/2017 10:35

Definitely not place marking!

Good luck OP!

Bluesheep8 · 30/12/2017 10:38

What news?

x2boys · 30/12/2017 10:39

I had friends when I was younger that were identicle twins they were 13 months younger than their older sister Shock

MrTrebus · 30/12/2017 10:42

Come on OP! Good luck

bobstersmum · 30/12/2017 10:42

I had two very close together like that. And it was fab. You'll be fine!

AppleKatie · 30/12/2017 10:43

Nope definitely not place marking.

Hope you’re ok OP

beingGoodNow · 30/12/2017 10:43

Have you tested OP?

Rachie1973 · 30/12/2017 10:46

lol my brothers were both born in 1975. One in January, one in December. They seemed to fight less with each other than with me and my sister.

My Mum had 4 of us in 5 years,.

My sons daughters are 13 months apart and they're very sweet together.

Allthetuppences · 30/12/2017 10:47

My brother and I are 14 months apart. All the slog was done in one go. We played mostly well together and our school friends overlapped which made playdates easy etc.
Hope you're feeling ok Flowers
