Smoking weed is......

LockJawTrouble · 29/12/2017 22:17

Just trying to make sense of things. Is it me or smoking weed is not normal? I am fed up of this excuse to the point, where I think I need some reconfirmation , to make sure I am not the only one thinking that.

smoking weed is..... What I'll be doing tonight. Grin

Greenshoots1 · 31/12/2017 17:07

What an odd leap for you to make

you claiming to be so familiar with the industry, and stating there are no slaves in the industry makes you either deluded, or colluding with slavery.

organic weed

hahahahahahahahaha

Biscuit

right up there with the poster claiming their weed was "ethically sourced"

CoteDAzur · 31/12/2017 17:09

"glad you find child trafficking and slavery amusing CoteDazur"

I'm finding your running around the thread shouting "Child slavery! Child slavery!" quite hilarious, yes Smile

You have no idea where people buy their weed from. A lot of it is now cultivated in places where it's legal.

Anyway, if you believe that you should be campaigning for legalisation so the industry can be regulates.

StickThatInYourPipe · 31/12/2017 17:10

Dp used to smoke it, was a deal breaker for me and he stopped.

And yes, I do know for a fact that he completely stopped it as we have regular drugs tests at work and he would be suspended if it came back positive.

CoteDAzur · 31/12/2017 17:10

"the illegal market would just carry on regardless, no difference other than being harder to control and easier to hide."

Just like the mafia continued selling booze when alcohol was legalized?

Oh wait. They didn't.

AfunaMbatata · 31/12/2017 17:11

My weed is grown by a Franciscan monk, no child slaves involved. Smile

CurryWorst · 31/12/2017 17:11

ou claiming to be so familiar with the industry, and stating there are no slaves in the industry makes you either deluded, or colluding with slavery

I didn't claim any such thing, nor did I say there weren't any.
Are you high?

CurryWorst · 31/12/2017 17:11

and it is organic. What is funny about that? It's an organic farm.

Greenshoots1 · 31/12/2017 17:12

you find child slavery "hilarious" - you are not worth any further acknowledgement. hope you can live with yourself

Good bye. Happy New Year. .

gillybeanz · 31/12/2017 17:14

My friend grows mine he only has a couple of plants, no work for any child slaves there.
Most people I know who smoke it either get it from a friend with a few plants or grow it themselves.
Some people buy of dealers, but not all.

I’m amazed that @greenshoots can really accuse strangers on the internet that they must be purchasing weed from trafficked child slaves. I don’t dispute that these things go on, just like they do in every industry, but you cannot make accusations like that when you don’t know the facts.
I am one million % certain my weed doesn’t have anything at all to do with slavery. It is grown by a good friend in Devon and he grows it for his own personal use as it helps with his arthritis pain. He gives me a bit when I visit once a month free of charge.
There are horrible things happening in all industries. Tobacco, chocolate, clothes etc. I wouldn’t touch other drugs like coke as I know that it would be highly likely to come from some terrible situation abroad somewhere

Indigo911 · 31/12/2017 17:18

@greenshoots stop with your ridiculous hysteria. The poster was clearly saying they found YOU hilarious for banging on about how we must all be facilitating child slavery because we smoke weed. They weren’t laughing at child slavery FFS

QuiQuaiQuod · 31/12/2017 17:24

going on about child slavery....yet do you smoke weed in front of your children? or somewhere but they can still smell it? is that okay?

Indigo911 · 31/12/2017 17:26

I don’t have children. And if I did then I wouldn’t smoke it anywhere near them. Just like I wouldn’t smoke cigs anywhere near them or get drunk anywhere near them either

lynmilne65 · 31/12/2017 17:30

My oldest smoked so much his teeth fell out ☹️

peachypips · 31/12/2017 17:38

....dangerous, irresponsible and stupid.

Indigo911 · 31/12/2017 17:40

@peachy do you think the same about people drinking alcohol?

Antisocial and horrid, and causes terrible mh problems but it's been normalised as "cool". You can't walk around LA without breathing it in. Disgusting.

AreYouHigh · 31/12/2017 17:56

yet do you smoke weed in front of your children? or somewhere but they can still smell it? is that okay?

We have a shed in the garden.

Skowvegas · 31/12/2017 17:56

Question for those who don't smoke weed because it's illegal.

If/when it is legal, will you smoke it?

maxthemartian · 31/12/2017 17:58

I said this earlier in the thread but I'll repeat it. The increase in MH problems are very likely caused by the fact that a lot of weed has now been bred to have a ridiculously high THC content. We are actually somewhat evolved to consume cannabinoids in one form or another (eg eating animals that eat marijuana plants) and benefit from it, but we're definitely not evolved to consume these highly psychoactive strains. Like so many things, the dose makes the poison.

Also, bearing in mind that correlation does not prove causation, it's quite probable that people with existing MH conditions attempt to self-medicate with it.

Prohibition is what causes the majority of the problems that are being pointed out here. A lot of people who use it are buying stuff produced dangerously and potentially exploitatively, using pesticides etc. Making it legal would resolve all of this, and also raise revenue via taxation.

It's got amazingly useful medical properties if used correctly, eg medical marijuana prescriptions and CBD oil.
GW Pharmaceuticals has even developed a spray called SativeX for treatment of MS symptoms, and we'll see more of that over the next few years.

I say all this as someone who personally doesn't like being stoned or care for the smell. But blind hysteria on the issue is unhelpful.

As for it being illegal - well, so was homosexuality at one point. There are all sorts of stupid and often immoral laws still interacted globally. Blindly obeying them is not a good thing.
