bought new Maxi Cosi pushchair, never dreamed the straps would be too short, for designers it's not a problem they should have to think about, just make them as adjustable as possible and they'll fit a wide range of toddlers/babies?!! Other straps are around 50% longer!?!

Phoned customer services, they said they'd email me, here's their email and my reply. I'm incensed not just for myself, but for anyone else who buys this product and really doesn't have money to waste.

MAXI COSI Thank you for your time on the phone earlier regarding your Adorra pushchair.
We would be delighted to assist you in resolving this enquiry. If you would please send across a photo of your little one in the seat so that we an see the issue, and another of the seat unit itself with the harness system clearly visible. Finally if you would please send across your proof of purchase should this be required later.
We look forward to hearing from you. MAXI COSI

MY RESPONCE:
Not sure i'm going to have time to do this, nor do I want to make her upset by strapping her into it when it's clearly too tight, that's the kind of thing that sparks a tantrum which isn't fair on her.
Here are the measurements I took yesterday:
The measurements are with straps fully extended, from shoulder to crotch to hip
brand new umbrella fold stroller 96cm 58% bigger than the Adorra
my old pushchair (about 3 years old) 86cm 42% bigger than the Adorra
Maxi Cosi Adorra 60.5cm

I did try her in it before I bought it but I thought it was difficult to fasten because she was wriggling so much. It never occurred to me that the straps could be to short as she is in 1.5-2 year cloths and the website states that the pushchair goes up to 3.5 years.

This is such a basic design fault, I shouldn't have to fight for a refund. I'm going to post all the correspondence etc on Mumsnet, to try and save other people from making the same mistake, and contact Trading Standards.

I look forward to your reply, RESPONCE ENDS

I'll keep Mumsnet up to date with what happens. Please feel free to post your crap experiences with Maxi Cosi.

I think this one should make the DM. 'MNetter in such a rush to be offended after she cannot work out how to lengthen straps has a public temper tantrum in front of millions and makes complete tit of herself' headline coming up!

ChasedByBees · 22/12/2017 19:49

It sounds to me like they're preparing to teach you how to use it which is no bad thing - surely it would be better to be able to use this if you've made an error?

TotemIcePole · 22/12/2017 19:54

They will go longer than that.

GottadoitGottadoit · 22/12/2017 19:59

Oh god!

BirthdayBeast · 22/12/2017 20:29

I'm gutted. The OP hasn't come back. Please come back, OP 😆

MayFayner · 22/12/2017 20:35

I had an icandy raspberry where the straps got too short when DS1 was about a year.

I emailed them and they sent me a new crotch strap for free.

It was all pretty civilised and drama-free.

I always got the staff in John Lewis to show me all about a buggy and then bought it on line if it was cheaper... I know

I’m a bit late to this party but presumably the OP received satisfaction somewhere other than on this thread?
