bought new Maxi Cosi pushchair, never dreamed the straps would be too short, for designers it's not a problem they should have to think about, just make them as adjustable as possible and they'll fit a wide range of toddlers/babies?!! Other straps are around 50% longer!?!

Phoned customer services, they said they'd email me, here's their email and my reply. I'm incensed not just for myself, but for anyone else who buys this product and really doesn't have money to waste.

MAXI COSI Thank you for your time on the phone earlier regarding your Adorra pushchair.
We would be delighted to assist you in resolving this enquiry. If you would please send across a photo of your little one in the seat so that we an see the issue, and another of the seat unit itself with the harness system clearly visible. Finally if you would please send across your proof of purchase should this be required later.
We look forward to hearing from you. MAXI COSI

MY RESPONCE:
Not sure i'm going to have time to do this, nor do I want to make her upset by strapping her into it when it's clearly too tight, that's the kind of thing that sparks a tantrum which isn't fair on her.
Here are the measurements I took yesterday:
The measurements are with straps fully extended, from shoulder to crotch to hip
brand new umbrella fold stroller 96cm 58% bigger than the Adorra
my old pushchair (about 3 years old) 86cm 42% bigger than the Adorra
Maxi Cosi Adorra 60.5cm

I did try her in it before I bought it but I thought it was difficult to fasten because she was wriggling so much. It never occurred to me that the straps could be to short as she is in 1.5-2 year cloths and the website states that the pushchair goes up to 3.5 years.

This is such a basic design fault, I shouldn't have to fight for a refund. I'm going to post all the correspondence etc on Mumsnet, to try and save other people from making the same mistake, and contact Trading Standards.

I look forward to your reply, RESPONCE ENDS

I'll keep Mumsnet up to date with what happens. Please feel free to post your crap experiences with Maxi Cosi.

Why didn’t you take the photo? Or simply return the pushchair?

Confused
foolsgold84 · 22/12/2017 17:26

Hi OP try not to get so stressed straight away. They’re trying to be helpful. So just show them what they want to see. You’ll be fine and I’ll get sorted. Save the campaign and threats for another day!

Laiste · 22/12/2017 17:26

Recently bought a mclaren stroller for DD and there's a thing behind the back rest which gives out extra strap length. It's quite hidden and i only found it while looking for how to sit the back up a bit.

buckbeak · 22/12/2017 17:27

Sorry op, I think you're being a bit of a twat. They replied very politely, you haven't. So matter how many times you post this on Mumsnet, it's still going to be the same.

I don't know why you wouldn't take a photo, they'll be able to help you then, and I don't understand why you are making this such a big deal. They've not refused to refund you or anythingHmm

Babababababybel23 · 22/12/2017 17:29

Why did you threaten them with mumsnet Hmm
Hahaha as if they care. Your being childish. If you won't strap your child in while you take a pic for 2 seconds then obviously it's because there is nothing wrong with it and your just after a refund for no valid reason. They probably won't even bothered to reply. They already told you what to do and you just ignored them so it's your problem

arethereanyleftatall · 22/12/2017 17:29

Eh?
They've sent a perfectly pleasant and reasonable request.

IVe worked in customer service - writing in the tone you have opted for will not result in them chomping at the bit to help you.

HarrietSchulenberg · 22/12/2017 17:29

Maxi Cosi seem to be coming out of this pretty well so far. Less so the OP, which I suspect wasn't quite the desired effect.

MaggieFS · 22/12/2017 17:30

Don't see what's wrong with their request. If this is the first correspondence why are you so aggressive? Are you just hoping for to kick off so they'll give you money back to keep you quiet?
Hope you get it resolved quickly and calmly.

So far this thread makes me like maxi Cosi more.

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 22/12/2017 17:32

Can we see a pic of your DD in the seat?

Babababababybel23 · 22/12/2017 17:33

I don't think we will see the OP again. Clearly she was hoping we would all bitch about maxi cosi and its not happening Grin

Mrsdraper1 · 22/12/2017 17:34

Not sure why you are "incenced"

ButchyRestingFace · 22/12/2017 17:34

Not fair on you, you mean.

Tantrums are toddlers' raison d'etre. One more trantrum won't kill her.

SoupDragon · 22/12/2017 17:34

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the response you got from Maxi Cosi. You are just being awkward.

diddl · 22/12/2017 17:34

Blimey you sound like hard work!

ButchyRestingFace · 22/12/2017 17:36

Not sure why you are "incenced"

It's the season of baby Jesus' birth.

And why use an "s" when a "c" is available?

SparklyLeprechaun · 22/12/2017 17:36

Wow, are you always this aggressive? You have time to measure the straps on 3 pushchairs but you haven't got time to take a photo? OK then.

arethereanyleftatall · 22/12/2017 17:37

Could this actually be some kind of advertising from someone who works at maxi cosi?
Bonkers customer, pleasant maxi cosi response equals a bit of pleasant exposure?

Laiste · 22/12/2017 17:37

I've just had a quick look at this

it shows how to change the height of the straps and it looks as it there might be a length adjustment under the shoulder pads? Not sure. Can't find a vid for the length adjustment.

cricketqueen · 22/12/2017 17:39

Why don't you just take it back? All this angst and drama seems excessive. Calm down OP it's nearly Christmas!

Mulberry72 · 22/12/2017 17:41

Being shitty and aggressive with them isn’t going to get you anywhere OP.

Uneccessary and rude.

OTT response OP. They have been perfectly reasonable, you have not. You need to give them a proper chance to help you before you lose your rag, you just look silly.

ImAMarshmellow · 22/12/2017 17:45

"I'll post in mumsnet"

I'm sure they are quaking in their boots. Confused
