bought new Maxi Cosi pushchair, never dreamed the straps would be too short, for designers it's not a problem they should have to think about, just make them as adjustable as possible and they'll fit a wide range of toddlers/babies?!! Other straps are around 50% longer!?!

Phoned customer services, they said they'd email me, here's their email and my reply. I'm incensed not just for myself, but for anyone else who buys this product and really doesn't have money to waste.

MAXI COSI Thank you for your time on the phone earlier regarding your Adorra pushchair.
We would be delighted to assist you in resolving this enquiry. If you would please send across a photo of your little one in the seat so that we an see the issue, and another of the seat unit itself with the harness system clearly visible. Finally if you would please send across your proof of purchase should this be required later.
We look forward to hearing from you. MAXI COSI

MY RESPONCE:
Not sure i'm going to have time to do this, nor do I want to make her upset by strapping her into it when it's clearly too tight, that's the kind of thing that sparks a tantrum which isn't fair on her.
Here are the measurements I took yesterday:
The measurements are with straps fully extended, from shoulder to crotch to hip
brand new umbrella fold stroller 96cm 58% bigger than the Adorra
my old pushchair (about 3 years old) 86cm 42% bigger than the Adorra
Maxi Cosi Adorra 60.5cm

I did try her in it before I bought it but I thought it was difficult to fasten because she was wriggling so much. It never occurred to me that the straps could be to short as she is in 1.5-2 year cloths and the website states that the pushchair goes up to 3.5 years.

This is such a basic design fault, I shouldn't have to fight for a refund. I'm going to post all the correspondence etc on Mumsnet, to try and save other people from making the same mistake, and contact Trading Standards.

I look forward to your reply, RESPONCE ENDS

I'll keep Mumsnet up to date with what happens. Please feel free to post your crap experiences with Maxi Cosi.

Cancel the cheque Smile

KimchiLaLa · 22/12/2017 18:09

I get the impression you know there's a reason you can't get a refund so are trying to get one by posting here. I would just send the photo if I were you.

Weebo · 22/12/2017 18:09

Maxi Cosi: Could you please do this perfectly reasonable thing so we can help you better?

OP: How dare you I haven't got time for that but I do have time to post numerous threads on MN about your perfectly reasonable request. Ha - Take that!

Just return it. You achieve more with honey than rude words. I had a similar problem with a mamas and papas high chair. Just took it back to the shop and showed my daughter in it. They agreed it was a faulty design as you expect a one year to be able to use the straps in a high chair. Full refund.

Morphene · 22/12/2017 18:11

won't someone please just cancel the cheque...

DoYouWantABourbon · 22/12/2017 18:13

I frequently have to deal with this sort of complaint in my line of work. Allow me to say what the poor bugger at Maxi Cosi cannot;

You are an idiot.

Weebo · 22/12/2017 18:15

Someone post an I LOVE MAXI COSY THEY ARE THE BEST EVER! thread.

Emmageddon · 22/12/2017 18:16

I bet the straps are perfectly fine now that the OP has worked out how to adjust them (after watching a YouTube video) and has disappeared in a blaze of shame at her toddleresque tantrum at a pushchair company.

BritInUS1 · 22/12/2017 18:16

YABVU they asked for a photo to try and help you resolve the issue and you sent a very rude response.

IDoLikeAReindeer · 22/12/2017 18:16

Is it inconceivable that you may not have the straps at the right setting, this scenario seems rather unlikely.

user1500124076 · 22/12/2017 18:21

This has turned from amusing to dogpiling now...

AnnieAnoniMouse · 22/12/2017 18:22

Well, not quite going to plan is it 😂

It’s a shame name changing is so easy on MN, it’s so much more fun when you can take the pee out of someone for being such an idiot 😂

We’ve ALL gone off half cocked, when in fact it was our own stupidity causing a problem. Apologise & move on.

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 22/12/2017 18:31

Off topic: who the hell spends £390 for a pushchair for a 1-2 year old when they don’t have £390? Confused how did that work? Did you pay in skittles?

LoveProsecco · 22/12/2017 18:43
Hmm
Hoppinggreen · 22/12/2017 18:47

Shakey15000 · 22/12/2017 18:51

That is a cringe-fest-extrodinaire

Justabadwife · 22/12/2017 18:54

Blatant placemarking 😆😆

GoReylo · 22/12/2017 19:04

OP, have you checked to see if you can lengthen the straps yet? I made that mistake with a sports bra once.

LittleBearPad · 22/12/2017 19:09

Waiting for OP’s responce

Cagliostro · 22/12/2017 19:15

Aw man, I only just got used to it being 'report them to ebay' :( :o

boredofmyoldname · 22/12/2017 19:20

So far you've started 3 threads about this issue.

It's getting a bit tedious now.

Send them evidence and they'll sort it for you.

My guess is you've got the harness on wrong.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 22/12/2017 19:22

Haven't you already posted about this?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3118995-straps-too-short-Maxi-Cosi-Adorra-pushchair-no-refunds

Along with another one in a different topic, and was the one about a footmuff that fits with reigns on your buggy you as well?

Just return the pushchair and buy a different one Confused

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 22/12/2017 19:24

Reigns? REINS
