bought new Maxi Cosi pushchair, never dreamed the straps would be too short, for designers it's not a problem they should have to think about, just make them as adjustable as possible and they'll fit a wide range of toddlers/babies?!! Other straps are around 50% longer!?!

Phoned customer services, they said they'd email me, here's their email and my reply. I'm incensed not just for myself, but for anyone else who buys this product and really doesn't have money to waste.

MAXI COSI Thank you for your time on the phone earlier regarding your Adorra pushchair.
We would be delighted to assist you in resolving this enquiry. If you would please send across a photo of your little one in the seat so that we an see the issue, and another of the seat unit itself with the harness system clearly visible. Finally if you would please send across your proof of purchase should this be required later.
We look forward to hearing from you. MAXI COSI

MY RESPONCE:
Not sure i'm going to have time to do this, nor do I want to make her upset by strapping her into it when it's clearly too tight, that's the kind of thing that sparks a tantrum which isn't fair on her.
Here are the measurements I took yesterday:
The measurements are with straps fully extended, from shoulder to crotch to hip
brand new umbrella fold stroller 96cm 58% bigger than the Adorra
my old pushchair (about 3 years old) 86cm 42% bigger than the Adorra
Maxi Cosi Adorra 60.5cm

I did try her in it before I bought it but I thought it was difficult to fasten because she was wriggling so much. It never occurred to me that the straps could be to short as she is in 1.5-2 year cloths and the website states that the pushchair goes up to 3.5 years.

This is such a basic design fault, I shouldn't have to fight for a refund. I'm going to post all the correspondence etc on Mumsnet, to try and save other people from making the same mistake, and contact Trading Standards.

I look forward to your reply, RESPONCE ENDS

I'll keep Mumsnet up to date with what happens. Please feel free to post your crap experiences with Maxi Cosi.

“I’m telling Mumsnet on you” 🤪

Sirzy · 22/12/2017 17:45

And when maxi cosi search for this thread I am sure they will be very happy with the replies!

thecatsthecats · 22/12/2017 17:48

Also waves to the social media team at Maxi Cosi

(who have responded perfectly well, btw!)

ButchyRestingFace · 22/12/2017 17:49

OP hasnae come back.

How long do people give it before this thread gets pulled?

Billben · 22/12/2017 17:50

I'll post in mumsnet

They are probably reading this post and laughing that everybody agrees with them and not you.

JohnHunter · 22/12/2017 17:51

It would have been quicker to put her in the pushchair and take a picture than to post here.

Ellendegeneres · 22/12/2017 17:52

And posting in chat and aibu... Jesus how dramatic.

FluffyWhiteTowels · 22/12/2017 17:53

Maybe OP has looked at tube or read instructions and is feeling a bit twattish and is changing her MN poster name and that's why she hasn't returned

SandunesAndRainclouds · 22/12/2017 17:53

If you couldn't afford the £390 for this particular pushchair, why did you get it? Your best bet is to return it as it doesn't suit your needs, have a refund and buy something you can afford.

I think Maxi Cosi may argue that if you've got time to be measuring other pushchair straps and posting on here, then you've time to take a photo and send an email.

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 22/12/2017 17:54

I'm cringing at your reply. I bet you're one of those who quotes The Sale of Goods Act and Consumer Rights Act when frothing at the mouth for a refund plus compensation.

punkpuffin · 22/12/2017 17:55

Your response seems a bit ott. They were trying to help and you got aggressive. You can catch more flies with honey.

FluffyWhiteTowels · 22/12/2017 17:55

What is the internet doing to me posting it twice Xmas Blush

Cubtrouble · 22/12/2017 17:56

Baaaahahahaha are these the RESPONCES you were hoping for?

GoblinDinosaur · 22/12/2017 17:56

Oh man this is cringe

Witchend · 22/12/2017 18:00

Hi Maxi Cosy,
Hope you're enjoying this thread. Would you like to join in?
Maybe in your reply to Op, you could include the threat of "I'll post in your thread on Mumsnet"? We'll await your reply.

Branleuse · 22/12/2017 18:01

cant you just send it back?

SandyDenny · 22/12/2017 18:03

£390 for a pushchair? Is that normal? That seems very expensive, all the more reason to just take a photo.

Even if your child cried a bit it's worth it get your money back surely.

SoupDragon · 22/12/2017 18:05

There are three threads on this

Amanduh · 22/12/2017 18:06

Either yours is faulty or you haven't sussed out the straps - my tall 4yo niece can fit with plenty of room for adjustment Confused

ButchyRestingFace · 22/12/2017 18:06

There are three threads on this

And has OP graced any of them with her presenCe after the initial post? Xmas Grin

TeachesOfPeaches · 22/12/2017 18:06

ADJUST THE STRAPS

Tini17 · 22/12/2017 18:08

OP where exactly did they say ‘no refunds’ as you claim in your other two threads?

statetrooperstacey · 22/12/2017 18:08

I once dangled my kid in a wasp infested wheelie bin to get back a £20 note id dropped in by mistake.
I would definitely strap a kid into a pushchair for 10 seconds for £390!

SoupDragon · 22/12/2017 18:08

No, but she has complained about it on a thread about a different pushchair.
