History : boss and I don't get on much - long story , huge back history but bottom line - she's cold and difficult.
This year I'm tasked with getting her pressie after a whip round ... LIGHTHEARTED.... got £21 ( doesn't say much from a team of 12 eh?) ... what shall I get?

Flowers.

You may hate her but she’s your boss, why antagonise her?

Bombardier25966 · 19/12/2017 20:03

You'd be really nasty to get her a crap present on purpose.

I'd suggest some nice chocolates (Hotel Chicolat or similar) and a bottle of wine. You've not got much time to get anything more interesting.

juneybean · 19/12/2017 20:04

Colander of naked women?

HermionesRightHook · 19/12/2017 20:05

I suppose it's done now, but imho gifts in offices shouldn't go upwards - unless you always do everyone's birthday or something where it would be mean to leave her out.

I would buy the nicest bottle of wine I could with £21, or find some champagne on offer. Something that doesn't take any mental energy but doesn't make you look bad.

spectacularvelvet · 19/12/2017 20:06

Bombardier she's really nasty ... and did you not note LIGHTHEARTED Hmm

You could go for the charm offensive? Soften her up a bit maybe. Although it might be a tall order with £21 lol.
Flowers and wine are nice and impersonal.

spectacularvelvet · 19/12/2017 20:07

Juney a colander of naked women is a bit too niche Grin

Allinclusive there is NO softening that will work, hence wanting to have a bit of fun with it

Depends on whether she is very butch or not? Does she like scented candles? Or things like scented candles that aren’t scented? Grin

SaucyJack · 19/12/2017 20:11

Something like a Baylis and Harding gift set or slippers from The Original Factory Shop that's not quite shit enough for her to legitimately bitch about, but is still not something anybody is ever going to find pleasure in.

ReturnOfTheMackYesItIs · 19/12/2017 20:11

Give her a £20 voucher. Giving someone something deliberately shitty at Christmas is just...shitty.

Oxfam have just the thing...
