Oh buy them, and get him a highighter pen too. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 17/12/2017 22:32

highlighter even. And a different colour for you.

BlazingPaddles · 17/12/2017 22:33

Decisions, decisions. Can hubby not buy them himself?

Sparklingbrook · 17/12/2017 22:35

My Nan had one of these-a Radio times leather cover. Would he like that too?

£4 fucking 50p I stupidly paid yesterday - never buy it any other time of the year. And it doesn't even look like there's that much decent to watch either.

user1497997754 · 17/12/2017 22:41

I think I am just being a Christmas grinch lol....I will get them tomorrow...we already have highlighter pens....I love that cover we don't have one of those....

Doesn't your TV incorporate a TV guide?

5foot5 · 17/12/2017 22:44

YANBU to not get both.

Many years ago RT was just BBC and TV Times was ITV so you had to get both. Just choose one.

Sparklingbrook · 17/12/2017 22:45

It has to be the RT really. And it has to be virtually falling to bits by the end of the 2 weeks. Grin

NoStraightEdges · 17/12/2017 22:46

My copy last year was missing Christmas Eve, day and Boxing Day!! How rubbish is that for the money??

user1497997754 · 17/12/2017 22:47

Yes we have Sky I think it's more to do with when he was younger and that's what your parents did....he was lucky...my family were to poor to afford them and he associates them with family christmases

We did get them last year but I was to busy in the kitchen to look at them till after Xmas...

CatastropheKate · 17/12/2017 22:49

I buy it every Christmas and think that I am a knobhead for spending £4.50 doing so. This year's copy is already on the coffee table. Still a knobhead.

MadForlt · 17/12/2017 22:50

OMG sparkling, we had one! I had totally forgotten they existed. Such a pointless item...

youngestisapsycho · 17/12/2017 22:50

I’ve already been through my Radio Times and set reminders in my phone for the days I want to watch or record things! 😁

Sparklingbrook · 17/12/2017 22:50

The Sky planner is just not the same.

user1497997754 · 17/12/2017 22:54

Thing is we spend so much of the time watching the world championship darts there is not much time to watch anything else....

OP posts:
AdoraBell · 17/12/2017 22:56

I’ve never bought them.

If DH wants them send him out to get them, and tell him to remember the highlighter.

Pumpkintopf · 17/12/2017 22:56

I too purchase them as they remind me of family Christmases- my brother and I used to highlight what we wanted to watch. Last year's copies were not even opened, still deliberating over whether to purchase this year's...

user1497997754 · 17/12/2017 22:58

AdoraBell. We already have the highlighters lol

alibongo5 · 17/12/2017 23:02

I too only buy it at this time of year. Pure nostalgia but I love the overview. And the cryptic crossword which I aim to finish by new year.

FeistyColl · 17/12/2017 23:07

OMG we had that cover! And I still buy the Christmas one. Pure nostalgia. But I now quote Miranda's Dad who says "Feel the heft of telly heaven!"

Jaygee61 · 17/12/2017 23:15

I can remember when you had to be pretty sharpish about buying the Christmas TV and Radio Times, otherwise they’d sell out. I still get it but don’t really know why, I manage perfectly well without it the rest of the year.

MimsyFluff · 17/12/2017 23:37

You're doing it all wrong! A few times a year they do an offer for £1 for so many issues you time it so you get the Christmas issue in with that lot, cancel DD as soon as as the £1 goes out and sometimes you can get cashback so you can sometimes get the £1 back or more Grin

Tippz · 17/12/2017 23:40

Just get the WHAT'S ON TV one. It's like a third of the price!!!
