Who should get the tickets

When we picked up dd from mils today she informed us that she had bought 2 tickets for dds nativity play today for fil and mil and there was a letter in dds bag.

Letter states that due to theatre size that only 2 tickets per child are allowed and if you require extra tickets you can join a spares list

Mil thinks that they should get tickets and won't give them us as they do majority of pick ups however me and dh have booked date off work so we could attend as it's her first one

So who ibu?

Before I saw it's sorted I was thinking do one parent, one grandparent. It's a nursery nativity. It'll be sure to be very sweet, but there will be loads of other opportunities to see your dc perform, and (as I can tell you now my eldest is 12) they get more meaningful as time goes on and there is real work/practice/concentration behind them.

My DH loves to go to our DDs' Nativity plays and ballet shows (when DD1 did ballet). The parents should definitely get priority where the tickets are concerned with GPS getting tickets if there's space. That was very presumptuous of MIL.

I wonder if the 'historical problems with sil' were anything to do with your Mil being overbearing?

Yes because DIL are never wrong are they Hmm

Parents are first to tickets end of story. Who in their right mind think anything else

You should get the tickets because your the parents.

Can you go to the School office and explain the situation?

Spartaca · 04/12/2017 08:31

Earlier he desperately wanted to go though didn't he?

Nicpem1982 · 04/12/2017 09:57

Spartaca - my dh is happy with the decision. Also after speaking with the school office today it is likely that there will be additional tickets available

I can't imagine my DH being happy to miss seeing his child in a play so his mum could attend.
