I've aparantly had a package 'delivered to a 6ft middle aged fair haired man in my house...' funny that there is no one of that description in my house at all
and my house has 2 numbers, and they said... '2 houses put together' my house doesn't look like 2 houses put together....

fuckers

Mine didn't bother knocking and just went and lied to told their boss that I refused the delivery at the door. I was fuming.

Another was the postman, delivered no20s post to my no320 house. I walked up and gave it her to which she was very grateful, the letter was an offer for a school place for their DC.

LambMadras · 02/12/2017 16:09

I've been waiting a week now for my DPD parcel. They even had the cheek to claim I wasn't in and uploaded a picture of someone else's empty driveway onto the tracking details. Useless bellends

FolderReformedScruncher · 02/12/2017 16:12

I have apparently had a flannel duvet cover and fitted sheet posted through my letter box at 13.16 on a day when I was right by the letter box. MyHermes ! It is virtually impossible to complain to them. They have a livechat function but as soon as they can't help you get cut off. I have had a refund from the company but the company clearly don't care either. So angry! I bet when I get my Barclaycard bill I will have been charged too. I have told the company I won't order again as I can't deal with the rubbish delivery company.

purplecorkheart · 02/12/2017 16:12

Mine has been sent to a random house 20 minutes away. Apparently, I am not home and as the other person bought from the same shop they think we know each other. Thankfully, my number was on the box and the person who got it rang me.

Ollivander84 · 02/12/2017 16:20

Yodel very kindly asked me to keep my neighbours parcel and then pointed out Hermes had abandoned two huge parcels in front of their house on full view Hmm
So I've taken in the lot as I don't want them getting stolen!

FreshHerbs · 02/12/2017 16:21

Chyrs2017 I feel ur pain xxx
When I buy online and then get an email back with tracking details, if I see Hermes or yodel I do a mental groan inside because it will always be some kind of headache to receive the goods.
Why do reputable companies use such shoddy courier services, they must get trillions of complaints not to mention re sending out lost parcels at further costs.

purpleprincess24 · 02/12/2017 16:23

Apparently mine was left in the porch as I was out at the time .... strange as I had been in all day and we don’t have a bloody porch!

Ellendegeneres · 02/12/2017 16:25

Ok outing. I had a rug thrown over my fence. A fence which had a bed of nails on it- the rug was 8ft by 6 and bloody heavy, how the hell they did it I'll never know. My ndns would have happily taken it in too 🙄
I was pregnant, couldn't lift it inside. Cue multiple calls to company I purchased it from, and yodel- utterly horrible company. Refused to deal with me because I wasn't their customer- twunts. Happy enough to lob my expensive item and leave it out there for months. And yes, months it was there. Nobody I knew was able to assist initially, and by the time someone was, they refused as it'd been out there in all weathers and had animal crap on it.
Eventually, a manager from a local store came and collected it- I was days from giving birth, I made him take black sacks and lay them in his car to protect the car.
Yodel- yes, you bunch of utter arseholes- couldn't care less. And have since lost their contract locally with the company, which was a lucrative one.
Big company gave me so much in the way of money off for my inconvenience that I ended up with the original item for over £100 less than its price. Hope they got that back from yodel.

Mol1628 · 02/12/2017 16:28

My OH had his parcel delivered to a receptionist named ‘sue’ before the driver even pulled onto the premises. There’s not even a reception at his office. 🙄

Archiesnan · 02/12/2017 16:38

We had a day bed delivered over a 6 ft fence on to our car bonnet - it came in three boxes . We watched the video footage and you can see the driver make no attempt to miss the car, the fence is metal so he could see where they were landing. Was a costly repair bill for them.

MrMeSeeks · 02/12/2017 16:58

I don't know why companies continue to use hermes.
I've had to stop using so many of my favourite companies because of this.

stuckfornames · 02/12/2017 20:17

DPD left my parcel on my doorstep in the snow. No note or anything. In full view of the road. It was literally propped against the door.

We don't use our front door, so I don't know how long it had been there.

Postman knocked at 9:30 to tell me there was a parcel! He didn't even have anything to deliver, but he didn't want my parcel to just be left there.

I picked it up and the bottom fell through!

I had no text to say it was coming and DPD didn't care when I contacted them!

bloody delivery drivers
DontTouchTheMoustache · 02/12/2017 20:22

i had one that was deleivered to a another address, the Amazon note told me the name of the neighbour they left it with but not the house number 😂 funnily enough I'm not on first name terms with my whole street so i was a bit stuck. Had a good laugh about it though when he brought it round

Underbrella · 02/12/2017 20:55

I had an email from Hermes last week to say my parcel had been signed for but no one was home Hmm so they left it in a safe place. Dark & wet, but we hunted for the safe place to no avail. Through a webchat I learned it had actually been delivered to Argos. Since my email said it had been delivered to me, I had no Argos-format tracking information & they reckoned they only ever have parcels from Royal Mail. All good in the end as the helpful assistant found it abandoned behind a till but I'd all but given up on it.

ihatetosay · 02/12/2017 21:21

thankfully my local Hermes driver is great she just does our village and tends to know every one so really lucky

rslsys · 02/12/2017 21:39

According to the courier company, my item was delivered on Tuesday and signed for by someone called Smith.
As I didn't order it until Thursday, I'm wondering if it was signed for by Matt Smith in his Dr Who guise . . .

toopeoply · 02/12/2017 21:43

My delivery driver and postie normally just opens the front door and dumps the parcels in my hall. He's very abrupt Confused

bananafish81 · 02/12/2017 22:11

This is why I always use Click and collect options wherever available - previously I'd have to have everything delivered to work - otherwise I'd have to hope the courier left the item with the dry cleaner opposite, as funnily enough neighbours are at work during the day, so they can't take in a package either!

More and more couriers and retailers offer this now thankfully - I actually really like Hermes, as there's a MyHermes at the 24/7 minimart 10 mins walk from my house: go in and there's enormous piles of Boden and Lakeland packages. Budgens has ASOS and House Of Fraser enormous piles, and the Londis gets all the Amazon (there's also a load of Amazon lockers in Budgens as well)

Went to pick up a package from Doddle today in fact...

WillowWeeping · 02/12/2017 22:18

Waited ten days for a parcel from John Lewis. Had been sent out for delivery with hermes who alleged it had been delivered.

Why can’t they use a decent service.

zebedebe · 02/12/2017 22:21

I came home to find a delivery note hanging out of the letter box, which informed me a package had been delivered to my agreed safe place - which apparently is "the bush" Hmm

crazymissdaisy · 02/12/2017 22:27

Delivery note from Hermes was floating around the snowy garden this morning. It didn't say where my parcel was, it was just blank , and I had been in all day yesterday waiting for it.

delilahbucket · 02/12/2017 22:39

I get a lot of deliveries for my job. I know most of my local couriers well. All except the new fed ex one. The last four deliveries from him have been abysmal. £700 worth of fabric left down the side of my shed, no delivery note left. My other half found it two days after it had been sat out in the rain. Yesterday the delivery I got from them had black powder all over the packaging. I asked what is was and why it was now all over my floor where I had laid it down (large roll of fabric). I got a shrug and a "dunno, some powder all over the warehouse". Told him the warehouse needed cleaning. A few weeks ago I got someone else's delivery. Don't know what happened to mine but it turned up two days later when they decided to actually come and collect the wrongly delivered item.
I don't have any issues with Hermes locally, but I stopped using them for my business nearly a year ago because the missing parcels were just getting ridiculous and the way they dealt with it was awful. My favourites are dpd and ups, but then you get what you pay for.

Madhairday · 03/12/2017 11:51

Just found a delivery from Hermes sitting on my open porch in the pouring rain.

I have been in all morning, apparently it was delivered 'to a secure location' at 10.15.

No it wasn't. It's in full view of anyone walking past.

And it's a nintendo switch. In a now completely ruined wet box. The actual inner box seems ok, so I'm hoping it all is...

HandbagFan · 03/12/2017 12:42

My Hermes driver (a lady always rushed off her feet!) is lovely. But the other day Ocado and Royal Mail both delivered without ringing the fricking doorbell. We have an app that shows when it’s been rung and I was in the whole day! Idiots.

KittysMyName · 03/12/2017 12:42

Found package I ordered and two others (that weren’t for me) at the bottom of my garden under a bush. Delivery driver obviously just chucked them over the back fence! When I called Amazon they said to just keep the other parcels!! Hmm
