Anyone else a massive fan and still gutted that he's gone? He's the only "celeb" I've ever been truly emotional about when he died 😞

Not keen on his characters (which by his own admission were usually the same by a different name 😂) but I think he was an extremely talented actor and loved to watch him animatedly reading stories.
My DH is a massive fan of bottom though 🤣 🙈

I saw Rik do stand up in the mid eighties and no-one has ever come close...my jaw ached, my sides ached, people were literally rolling in the aisles. It was so quick fire that I probably missed a lot of it because I was laughing so much at the previous joke. He is sorely, sorely missed in this house.

MrLovebucket · 02/12/2017 01:03

I wouldn't say he was the funniest person who ever lived but he was bloody amusing. Mr Jolly still creases me up, hence my username.

MrLovebucket · 02/12/2017 01:06

Oh, and he has a lasting legacy for me.

Every time anyone mentions Elephant and Castle I involuntarily respond "stick it up your arsehole".

Isthismummy · 02/12/2017 05:43

One of the all time greats. So sad that he is no longer with us. I grew up watching him and it was like losing a part of my youth.

He was bloody gorgeous too!

starzig · 02/12/2017 06:03

YABU. He was awful

DrKrogersfavouritepatient · 02/12/2017 07:18

What did he have candlefloozy?

Was it a "girl sandwich"? 😂

LellyMcKelly · 02/12/2017 07:27

His George's Marvellous Medicine on Jackanory was the best Jackanory of all. We rushed home from school for it. He did Roal Dahl proud.

steff13 · 02/12/2017 07:37

I've seen him before; is that Drop Dead Fred?

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 02/12/2017 07:40

Saw this on FB recently and thought it was hilarious

Rik Mayall playing up for the camera

greendale17 · 02/12/2017 07:46

No, didn’t find him funny at all

greendale17 · 02/12/2017 07:47

Very funny and pretty hot actually

Pretty hot he certainly was not

candlefloozy · 02/12/2017 08:11

@DrKrogersfavouritepatient I have no idea! But it's my brothers claim to fame, that and boy George winked at him one time!

justpoppingby · 02/12/2017 08:48

He also did this which a lot of people have never heard of.
He was a talented lovely man.

He was extremely hot when younger, he died at 56 and suffered a lot after his head injury so naturally he wasn't quite as beautiful as time went on.
